All in all, I love the conference title game matchups.

Washington @ Philly is really intriguing. Eagles have been excellent all year and the only game they lost after September was a game to Washington where Jalen Hurts was injured. Washington has won 7 straight games and Jayden Daniels might be having the best rookie QB season of all-time.

KC-Buffalo is also a solid matchup, with KC only a 2 point home favorite. Mahomes 3-0 against Buffalo in the postseason, but the last two games were excellent.

Josh Dubow from AP Sports took sometime after the Chiefs game to answer some concerns about the Chiefs getting the calls. Here are some random posts. Take them anyway you want. I'm passing it along:

1) Chiefs opponents have gotten 4 more first downs by penalty on 3rd/4th down in 4th quarter and OT of games decided by 1 score than Chiefs have since 2018

2) Since 2020, Chiefs have 8th worst penalty yard differential in regular season and playoffs. They have been penalized for 381 more yards than opponents in that span

3) Since Patrick Mahomes became starting QB for Chiefs in 2018, KC has been penalized for 693 more yards than their opponents (playoffs included). That's the 4th worst penalty yard differential in that span

4) Chiefs have 7th worst penalty yard differential since 2018 in 4th quarter/OT of games decided by 1 score

5) First downs gained by penalty on 3rd or 4th down since 2018 (playoffs included):

Jets interviewing Lions DC Aaron Glenn today

Jets are interviewing Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn for the team’s head coaching vacancy.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said the Jets’ “goal is to keep him from leaving the building” and to sign him to a deal. Glenn is also in the running for the Saints and Jaguars head coaching jobs after four years as Detroit’s defensive coordinator. The Lions defense over the past two seasons has given up the league’s 12th lowest offensive success rate and the 11th lowest EPA per play. Glenn would face a total rebuild in New York after the Jets’ Aaron Rodgers experiment went belly up.

Jets to hire Lions DC Aaron Glenn

The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt reports “barring anything unexpected” the Jets will hire Lions DC Aaron Glenn as their new head coach.

The Jets and Aaron Glenn have been flirting with each other through the coaching cycle and the Divisional Round elimination of Glenn’s Lions is speeding things up. He interviewed with the Jets on Tuesday and is expected to be named their head coach soon. Rosenblatt adds the Jets’ staff “has been operating as if it will get done” and the team is “informing candidates that they are going in another direction.” Glenn has been the Lions’ defensive coordinator since 2021, keeping the team afloat through major defensive injuries this season, prior to the playoff exit. The 52-year-old will be a first-time head coach, faced with rebuilding the Jets after a short-lived Aaron Rodgers era.

Patriots targeting Lion Defensive line coach for DC vacancy

CBS’ Matt Zenitz reports the Patriots are “targeting” Lions DL coach Terrell Williams for their defensive coordinator vacancy.

The longtime defensive line coach moved over to Detroit this offseason after spending 2018-2023 on Mike Vrabel’s staff in Tennessee. With Tennessee, he was an assistant head coach in 2023. He also has a long history in the league as a defensive line coach, including stints in Miami (2015-2017) and Oakland (2012-2014) as well as Tennessee. Williams served as Vrabel’s head coach in a preseason game in 2023, so Vrabel clearly believes he has the chops for a higher-level job. We expect this deal will come together shortly. The brain drain of the Lions continues.

Yeah much better having the new age offensive minded guy who draws up a WR pass when the season is on the line and a trip to the nfc championship game.

I'm perfectly happy with Josh coming back in an offensive coordinator roll, he turned Mac Jones into a pro-bowler and wont mind seeing what he can do with Maye. I won't bother getting into the fact he has more rings on his fingers than pretty much any other coach in the NFL currently... Hell he has lost more super bowls then most coaches right now could ever dream of getting too!

Yes he may have that but he failed when he didnt have Brady when he was a HC. He failed multiple times. So how much was him how much was Brady. What also does it tell you that Brady did not call him to be a HC or OC for the Raiders?

One bad play does not define a guy's career. Look at Dan Quinn.

Who cares because he is not the head coach, he is in the roll he belongs in. Not all coordinators are cut out to be head coaches. Lots of teams will be learning this lesson next season.... As i said he turned Mac Jones into a pro bowler in his rookie year, not to mention made Matt Cassel look like a viable starter in the league when Brady got injured in 2008.

Saleh potentially to Jags

Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz reports former Jets head coach Robert Saleh is a “potential favorite” to land the Jaguars head coaching job.

Saleh is scheduled to meet with the Jags’ front office and ownership on Thursday and Friday. He may now be considered a favorite for the Jacksonville job after Bucs offensive coordinator Liam Coen — who had been considered a strong candidate for the Jags job — signed a new deal with Tampa on Wednesday morning. A defensive minded coach, Saleh was 20-36 over three and a half seasons with the Jets before being fired. Jacksonville’s defense in 2024 allowed the league’s fifth most points and second most yards.
