speaking of the Niners subreddit some are getting restless by the lack of action in FA but cooler heads are prevailing, a quiet offseason would be a nice change up after the last couple of crappy ones. there also is a directive from ownership and the offseason to be more conservative with contracts and spending seeing as how these recent offseasons have played out.
the only thing I want to see done is a contract for Brock, team friendly deal for J Bosa, DT and OT line either through FA or the draft. with the Rams signing Adams and jettisoning Kupp, I wouldn't mind a team friendly deal for Kupp it at all possible.

I can't hate a guy for securing the bag but the way the CLE-Garrett situation played out turns out it was just about money and not competing for a title because it's going to take them years to get out from under that Watson deal and be competitive.

My heart sank when I first read that about Kittle, but I was also browsing other stuff when I came across that post. Once I actually looked into it, I realized it was BS. Should have searched it out before I posted it here. But yeah hopefully Kittle plays out his entire career as a 49er, he’s even said it himself that’s what he would like.

Greenlaw, Hufanga, and Ward are all gone; Trent Williams is nearing the end of his career; seems like BA could still be traded; Juszczyk might not be here next season (I hope he is, but they keep asking him to take pay cuts). And then Brock’s extension looms over everything. I’m split on his situation…on one hand I don’t think he should get $50+ mil yet (he definitely deserves to get paid though) and on the other if guys like Trevor Lawrence, Dak Prescott, Joe Burrow, and Jared Goff can get $50+ mil a yr extensions then I can’t fault Purdy for wanting the same compensation. This years draft is going to be very important in setting up the team for future success.

I am also a former A's fan. sucks too because I am here in Sacramento and cannot bring myself to support them. the A's belong in Oakland. financing for the Vegas stadium has still not been finalized. Vivek Ranadive, owner of the Kings, is the one who brought together the Sacramento deal, is said to be banking on Fisher not getting the Vegas deal done and may swoop in when that falls through.
Side note - MLB ownership is trying to get owner of the Tampa Bay Rays to sell the team. I would ask where this energy was when it came to the A's but it seems like the league wants a Vegas franchise no matter who it is. F MLB, F Manfred and FJF!

If those guys are getting that money, Brock deserves it. we have been devoid of a good QB for so long I am ok with them spending this money on him. if anything they can make it incentive laden, plus Brock comes off as the type of guy who will work with the team in the future to restructure his contract to keep the team competitive.
I liked Hufanga but he's been gone for almost two years and the young guys have stepped up. I will miss Greenlaw but he's been gone for a while too, Fred was able to hold things down with Dre's fill-ins last year. If J Bosa signs a team friendly deal and can stay healthy I think we will be alright.
Ward, he said he had a tough time coming back to the team after the lost of his daughter last year and I understand. the secondary is still in good shape but I am guessing they will probably draft someone here.
