No, because this ignores one additional scenario, which is Dallas beats Eagles, Giants beat Jets and Cowboys, Atlanta loses last two games.

Giants win NFC East, but Cowboys pass Atlanta for the last wild card due to having a better conference record (7-5 vs. 6-6).

And Atlanta plays after Dallas on Sunday.

Not to mention good teams win tough divisional games, we're only 2-2 in the division this year and we owe them for that 34-7 beating from earlier this year.

Oh....so if cowboys/giants is snf week 17 then the cowboys can clinch a playoff spot before that game even is played.

Obviously winning that game wins the division but just sayin a playoff spot.

I just wish they would stop having us finish seasons with back to back division games, it's almost like they don't want the Cowboys to make the play-offs. I doubt we'll go next year if we get in this year, what with playing the AFC North, NFC South and Green Bay and New Orleans plus our division.

They changed it last year so that every week 17 game is a division game, and 10 of the 16 games in week 16 this year feature division matchups, so it's not like the Cowboys are the only ones finishing with consecutive division games.

Sorry meant the 49ers, not the Saints, Saints are in NFC South. 49ers will probably be one of our easiest games next year, which tells you how difficult our schedule will be. Hoping Jerry and Rob can give our defense some serious upgrades in the off-season, we're going to need it.

The Niners rank 29th in the NFL in pass attempts, so Harbaugh's actions suggest otherwise. With his rose-colored glasses apparently on, Harbaugh said he believes Smith belongs in the Pro Bowl with Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees. Harbaugh's comments, if taken at face value, seem to indicate that the 49ers fully plan to sign Smith to a long-term extension during the offseason.

In the rg3, i mean andy luck sweepstakes:

- if the colts lose this week they clinch no worse then the #2 pick & would also eliminate the rams from the #1 pick.

- if the colts win then week 17 & the vikes lose weeks 16 & 17 it goes to strength of victory tiebreaker....right now colts have slight edge.

- the best the vikes can do is tie on that tiebreaker....if they do it goes to a cointoss.

so its not over yet.

This is going to sound desperate (because it is) but I play against Drew Brees in Fantasy for the Championship this week, and is there any chance he doesn't play the full game? If they go up on Atlanta enough to lock up the division, would they bench him??? They don't seem to be afraid of running up the score on Minnesota, and passing late in the game, so I'm guessing I'm screwed

No they wouldn't bench Brees at all because the Saints still have a chance to improve their Playoff seeding. Especially getting and holding on to that #2 seed.
