New England led the AFC in takeaways and turnover diff, but Green Bay had better numbers at both. The Packers obviously have the better defensive backs, with seven more interceptions than the Patriots.

It's a very difficult question to answer, because of how poorly both have performed. Ultimately I'd have to give the Patriots an edge, because of their triumvirate of receiving options(welker, gronk, hernandez) particularly the TEs against GBs linebackers and safeties, unless Jennings can return to form in the playoffs after his injury. I wonder if the packers would put Woodson on Gronkowski or Welker?

Don’t count out the recv’ing corps the packers have….Jennings, Driver, Jones, Nelson, & Cobb…..and then Finnley @ TE.

i haven't checked it, but they said nelson had 1 less TD than calvin johnson this season!!

Well it looks like parity it starting already. 3 AFC West teams ended 8-8 and the Chiefs ended in last place at 7-9. Now that is close.

Baltimore plays at SD next season, hopefully it's early season (Sep-Oct) so I can get some tickets and go!

Gronkowski had 1 more touchdown than Megatron.

I'm not discounting the receiving corps for the packers, but TEs tend to present more of a matchup problem for teams. If it weren't for the Pats TEs, their offense would be stagnant. Besides, even bad WRs have torched the pats defensive backs.

I like the idea of Chung and McCourty as our safeties going into the playoffs, seems a better use of McCourty's skills than having him trying to play man coverage.

I don't understand what happened to McCourty. Last year he was a finalist for Defensive Rookie of the Year and this year he's been pure garbage. I really wish they had signed Ty Law when he was talking about making a return earlier this season because even though he's been out of football for a couple years and is 37 I'd still take him over the current Patriot defensive backs and they could use a veteran presence in their young secondary.

Edit: The Bears have announced that Lovie Smith will be their coach in 2013. Smith has 2 years left on his contract and is believed to make about $5 million per year.

Too bad Jerry can't be fired for the same thing, other than re-signing Free and drafting Smith he did nothing to overhaul the horrible 2008-2010 offensive line. Time for Kyle Kosier to move on and we may need to rethink this drastic youth approach as well.
