Sure reg season numbers were decent, when you have great players like that, but what a bust in the playoffs... the Jags have almost no one on offense.... Great hire
At least our team is better than yours.

Cowher was on the Dan Patrick Show this morning and made it clear he was very happy doing TV. He didn't rule out a return to coaching but it was clear it would have to be a great opportunity. After working for the Rooneys for years he is going to want to work for a stable, well run organization again and there aren't many teams like that in the NFL. It was rumored Cowher was going to get the Giants job if Tom Coughlin was fired but that's not happening now.

I would believe that Mike Smith's job in Atlanta would be on the hot seat to start the new season. He's accomplished some pretty good things like taking the Falcons to winning records back to back for the first time in Franchise history, but one thing he hasn't done yet is win a Playoff game where he's 0-3.

I can't see Smith being on the hot seat. He's made the playoffs in 3 of his 4 seasons and has a 43-21 regular season record. If the team misses the playoffs next season then maybe I could see him being on the hot seat in 2013 but barring a complete collapse I couldn't imagine Smith being in any trouble.

I agree, I think if they get smoked in the playoffs next year the rumblings will start, but he's got at LEAST 2 more seasons (again unless they go like 2-14 or something)

Mark Davis responds like "A WR?" and Al goes "No you F* D*A$$, get the F* out of the room" and just constantly belittling and berating him. Now that he's the boss and almost everyone there has seen that he's got to show he's the boss and Jackson was just a casualty of that.

After reading that article I don't blame Mark Davis as much as I would have, had this been an Al Davis move.
I assume the article you're referring to is in the link. I really don't understand how the writer (Michael Silver) criticizes Mark Davis for only interviewing Reggie McKenzie and praises the 49ers Jed York for interviewing multiple GM candidates last year even though everyone knew Trent Baalke was getting the job. Davis was advised by John Madden, Ron Wolf, and Ken Herock and they all recommended McKenzie. Why should Davis waste his time and others when he knew McKenzie was getting the job. Regardless, it's probably true that Mark Davis wants to get rid of the people that saw his father treat him like crap but the Raiders have been terrible for years so maybe the best thing for the organization is to clean house.

Redskins hired Raheem Morris as defensive backs coach.
The Skins may also place an "assistant head coach" tag on Morris. The move has the potential to create something of a struggle within the Redskins' coaching staff if coordinator Jim Haslett views Morris as a threat to his job. For now, Morris will focus on coaching up Josh Wilson, DeAngelo Hall, DeJon Gomes, and Kevin Barnes. The return of safeties LaRon Landry, a free agent, and O.J. Atogwe, a possible cap casualty, are questionable.

I dunno, we have one of the worst secondaries in the league, yours was at least good enough to help you have a top 10 defense. I like the guy we got, he's one of Rob's boys, now we just need to upgrade the personnel. Hopefully we draft DeCastro and sign the Saints' Nicks in free agency, that would help us go from one of the worst offensive lines in the league to one of the best.

Maybe Dre Kirkpatrick falls he is a monster.

I'd like to see the skins get Mike Adams in the second if they could.

Well if the money is there, they might be able to re-sign Robinson and get Nicks and still sign one of the best FA corners. I'd rather upgrade the offensive line than the secondary since if we can get Romo a consistently clean pocket we'd probably go from averaging 23 PPG to over 30 again, which would help the defense out. Especially since with a better line we'd be more capable of using Murray and Jones to grind out the clock in the 4th quarter.

Kelly Clarkson will sing the national anthem before Super Bowl XLVI.

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton will sing "America the Beautiful" during the pre-game ceremonies.

The chubbychasers must be thrilled.

Morris Claiborne is entering the NFL Draft, hopefully it means other top cornerback prospects will drop to us in case DeCastro doesn't.

What's with all the love in the National media for the Giants this weekend? Don't forget the Pack was 15-1. Okay they lost to KC, but their OL was a mess and Jordy Nelson gotted flagged for a couple of questionable offensive pass interference calls on big gains, we all know that there is pushing and shoving going on from both sides. After the Packers lost that one game everyone forgot how good they are. Don't forget that the Saints lost to TB and STL this year. Rodgers and company are STILL THE DEFENDING CHAMPIONS.

Giants have not played anyone in their recent run. The dissappointing dream team was still in the hunt until late into the season. The Cowboys were a dysfunctional mess. Falcons only looked good in their last game before the Giants because TB already quit for Raheem Morris. Winning the NFC East at 9-7 is nothing to brag about.

I think it will be close this weekend, but I just don't see the Giants stopping Rodgers at home. The Giants might have a good D-line but their secondary is not much better than the Packers. At least the Packers secondary has a tendency of baiting QBs into throwing picks. Eli's numbers were no where near Rodgers yet some think he is elite. He's above average, but putting him in the same category of his brother is beyond comprehension.

I keep hearing about the Giants D-line being healthy, but the media doesn't mention that the Pack's O-line will be back to full strength with Clifton and Bulaga.

Manning did have more yards, more 1st downs, more 20+ & 40+ yard plays & less sacks so really cant say his numbers were no where near rodgers.
