The truth is though I can't see the Patriots going after a huge money receiver. There's a good chance they could get Brandon Lloyd because he's already said he wants keep playing in Josh McDaniels offense, and his price won't be as high as it could be in other offseasons because the receiver market is so crowded and Lloyd is 31. |

I just don't know about Moss. I know for a fact that Welker hates Moss and wanted him gone because all he cared about was himself but maybe a year off from football could get Moss focused again. I thought the Patriots should have signed Moss midway through the season when it was clear Ocho wasn't the answer. I just have to wonder how much Moss has left though and how rusty he'd be. I wouldn't mind it if the Patriots signed Moss and used one of their earlier draft picks on a potential deep threat receiver as well.

So does anyone know the time frame on when anything would be announced about Nick Collins and that nasty neck injury he has last season??
He’s a freakin’ force in our sencondary and obviously really missed him this past year. ![]() Having both him and Burnett back there would be great next season. |

Rivers and Cameron were only together for 1 season(2006), which was more about LT than Rivers and Gates, yet they still hooked up for 71/924/9. Drew Brees was with Cameron his first 4 seasons as a starter, while Gates had arguably his best seasons.
Go compare Flacco's first 4 seasons with Brees first 4. Brees had thrown 7 more interceptions than Flacco has at this point even though Brees played in 6 less games. All the other stats are pretty similar and obviously if Brees had played those 6 games, his TD and yardage numbers would be higher, but so would his already higher INT total. I'm not saying Flacco is going to be Drew Brees, but he has very respectable stats for a player at this stage in his career. Even Rotoworld said locking him up is a "no-brainer" and mentioned how he is hamstrung by receivers and scheme. Hopefully the Ravens are able to get him some help at receiver in free agency/trade or even the draft if free agency/trade fails. |

Flacco- 7 yards per attempt You're thinking Saints Drew Brees, which didn't happen till his 6th year in the league and after he left Cam Cameron. Last edited by Konfusion1230; 02-15-2012 at 03:44 AM. |

![]() I get all the Big 10 games up here and remember Brees well at Purdue. He's just a natural leader, and I don't think Flacco is. Worst off, I don't think his Raven teammates see him as a leader either. ![]() |

I'm not arguing that he is a great leader. I don't think he needs to be on this team. They have a handful of veteran leader type players including Ray Lewis, who is one of the greatest leaders to ever play the game. |

Brees' first two seasons in SD were pretty bad, but the team as a whole was just awful. In his third year in 2004, he was probably the 3rd or 4th best QB in the league with Gates, LT, Parker, McCardell, Caldwell, and Osgood. They were ****ing EXPLOSIVE. Probably the most explosive team SD has had since the 70's. In 05, they took somewhat of a plunge and Brees got hurt, and the rest is history. Until I see a season from Flacco like Brees had in 04 where he breaks out, I'm going to have to side with flimnut on this one. Flacco is just in that "mediocre" category. 20-25 TDs and 10-15 INTs just isn't going to cut it if I'm looking for an elite QB.

Flacco 10- 3622 yards, 25 tds, 10 ints What a huge difference ![]() I already posted their stats over the first 4 years including yards per attempt and attempts per game and the stats are comparable, there is no denying that. |

First four years don't mean garbage. All of Flacco's teams have been good. Brees' first two were TERRIBLE. That 03 Charger team was almost Lions type bad. One of the worst defenses of all time. Flacco is constantly getting help from his defense where Brees didn't for the better part of half of his time in SD.

I really don't think (and hope as a Browns Backer) that Flacco is the guy. Not knocking Joe but the Ravens can't rely on the "D" to score and have the "O" manage a good game and get a ring. If you guys don't get a Top 5 QB, you won't win it all...end of story. Ray has 2 productive (not Pro-Bowl, but productive) years left. Time for a changing of the guard in this division...GO BROWNS!!!

Believe what you want, but you're dreaming if you think the Browns are gonna be good anytime soon with 3 playoff caliber teams in the division. While I agree with you on Ray only having a couple seasons left, they would still have a few players who are some of the best at their position when he is gone, not to mention new players coming in. Last time I checked, good defenses help your QB out by taking less pressure off you and giving you comfortable leads most of the time. Brees had to play from behind so often in his first couple years that he obviously had to force more passes. Same thing goes with Sanchez in NY. His first couple years he did fine and then this year, the defense isn't as good, and his numbers fall. On the other side, look at Alex Smith. 49'ers had a top 5 defense this year and his number went way up. Obviously Harbaugh had something to do with that, but a solid defense helps a QB a lot more than a shitty one, which Brees had in SD.
