One of the reasons Washington did so poorly was that not only was their QB play lousy, but they have no one to throw to outside Fred Davis. I highly doubt they could afford in cap space to get a prime time WR like V-Jax, and they have barely any picks to try and trade for someone. Now they give away the kingdom for a king with no subjects to rule over. (EDIT: To clarify, I believe in RG3. I think given equal circumstances he could be better than Luck. But in Washington, with no talent around him and no way to get more he will have a rough time of it. At least he's only stuck for 4 years ![]() Edit again: Rams gonna have a good few years ahead of them now. Get some O-line help to keep Bradford upright and fill some defense holes and they could go back to the top of that division. Last edited by SleeperAgent; 03-10-2012 at 04:35 AM. |

Well I mean long-term, not just this year, the Baylor kid is much younger than Romo and the Redskins were actually pretty competitive in our division even with much lesser QBs than Griffin III. If we make a few nice moves and draft well, I think we will either win the division next year or at least get a wild card. As far as the future goes, I'd say it looks a lot brighter for the Redskins than it does for us right now. Obviously they gave up too much for RGIII but that doesn't change the fact that he should be a beast in the NFL for a long time to come.

From the Rams perspective this is a stroke of genius. If Bradford can stay healthy they already have a very solid starting QB and a fairly decent core of young players. And if Blackmon is there at #6 they have one of the better WR prospects to come along in years. And now they two first round picks for the next two years. I'm sure Jeff Fisher is loving his choice of coaching jobs right now. Last edited by ChadFL; 03-10-2012 at 04:44 AM. |

lol and at least we'll be in the crazy trade club together ![]() Quote:
Worst part is scrolling across my screen now "Rams will also get additional compensation" ![]() lol Shanahan is going all in for his son, if this works out, he'll be guaranteed the head coaching job, if he's bust in a year or 2 they're all gone. Also if it doesn't work they've basically wasted Orakpo and Williams, as they will be at the end of their prime (I think Orakpo will be in year 7 and Williams in 6) and thats if they give up quickly. Quote:
As much as I love some of them, its full of delusion, and when you really break it down slowly for most they all seem to get it or at least acknowledge it. Most of them just assume well they must know he's good for that price! Kinda like when the brokers said hold in the 08 slide "well my broker drives an S600 he must know what he's talking about".... nope ![]() His stats vs. ranked teams throughout his career is very troubling, and we've basically gambled five years to even begin to rebuild, on 2011 baylor stats (which still included butt whippings by A&M and OSU), doesn't exactly inspire confidence in me. They really need to decide if they want to be an offensive team or defensive team. Being middle (or worse) of the pack on both sides of the ball is a terrible plan. |

Unless they go after Matt Flynn I can't see them drafting Blackmon and getting any use out of him. I'm not knocking Blackmon at all, just that he would be way underutilized in the Browns offense. Every team would just double or triple him all day and force their QB to throw elsewhere or run a lot. Neither of which will do much good.

The Rams are still going to be able to feed a big need at #6. There's a good chance Blackmon is still available, as it's very possible the Browns could address the cornerback position and go with LSU's Morris Claiborne, they could go with Alabama's Trent Richardson if they lose Peyton Hillis, or they could freak out if they don't get Matt Flynn and completely reach for Ryan Tannehill, who doesn't belong in the first round but since the draft has gotten so quarterback crazy the last couple years teams have been totally overreaching (see last year's draft with Ponder, Locker, and Gabbert). If Blackmon is gone they can fill their need at tackle and take Iowa's Reilly Reiff and hopefully keep Bradford healthy.
