Rosenhaus likes to brag that he hadn't had a player under contract holdout in years. It looks like that won't be the case anymore with Gore and Desean Jackson.

Also, Matt Leinart is going to re-sign with the Texans. Yesterday ESPN reported that he had agreed to sign with the Seahawks, then softened their report that he was expected to sign with the Seahawks.

yeah they are...but the rams might have something to say about that in the near future as well.

Saints agreed to terms with WR Lance Moore on a five-year contract.
Drew Brees made it clear that he values Moore highly as an outlet and slot receiver, and the front office predictably responded. Moore is more important to Brees and coach Sean Payton than any other team, so this signing is great news for a player who finished a surprising 27th in fantasy points last year. He'll be a player to target in PPR leagues this season.

I read yesterday that the Dolphins are the front-runners in the Orton sweepstakes. Come on Jeff, make it happen, a 3rd rounder is nothing!

Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia reports that the Redskins' trade of Donovan McNabb to the Vikings in exchange for a 2012 sixth-round pick and conditional sixth-rounder in 2013 is complete.
The (roughly) 14-hour holdup was contract parameters; McNabb needed to rework his deal and get rid of the $10 million option bonus the Redskins owed him per last November's phony extension. McNabb figures to open camp as the favorite to start for the Vikings, but the team won't wait around if the 34-year-old struggles early. Minnesota's scouting department determined before the draft that Christian Ponder was NFL-ready. It's probably a safe bet that both will start games this year, be it due to ineffectiveness or injury behind an aging offensive line that struggles in pass protection. This is a situation to avoid in fantasy football.

It doesn't sound like there's really any other suitors for Orton. From all indications the Cardinals are getting Kolb, and every other team seems to be satisfied with who they have at quarterback. I would expect the Dolphins to get Orton within a day or two.

Sounds like it, you're probably losing Rice to Seattle though.

They're also going after Ahmad Bradshaw so they may have a much better offense this year.

Yeah, that's the thing, we also need a RB. I don't think Thomas can carry the running game by himself this year.

Not sure how I feel about getting another "old timer" at QB. Perhaps he can teach Christian Ponder a thing or two? Didn't T-Jack go to Seattle too?

Donovan doesn't strike me as the mentor type, Ponder will probably pretty much be on his own. Tarvaris Jackson is going to Seattle, yes. So your QBs are Donovan, Joe Webb and Christian Ponder. Not exactly an exciting bunch.

Sidney is not going to Seattle, yeah money talks but I doubt Sidney is going to want Tarvaris throwing to him

ESPN's John Clayton reported on Sports Center that the Rams have joined the competition for free agent Sidney Rice.
Sam Bradford has reportedly been pushing for big target down the field, and Rice makes a lot more sense than Plaxico Burress. Per Clayton, Rice is becoming the big story of the day, and there may even be another team or two involved. Earlier reports suggested the Seahawks will set the value for Rice, pending a physical.
I think he would prefer Bradford.

Typical Vikings maneuver. Maybe we can get Favre back?

there's isn't a lot of guys in the league that will sign a team out of a sense of loyalty anymore.

money is the driving force now.

i don't even know if wanting to be on a super bowl contender is enough of a reason to take a paycut anymore.

I actually think getting McNabb is a good move. There's no way Christian Ponder will be ready with no OTAs or minicamps so McNabb should start for a year and then turn over the team (whether he wants to or not) to Ponder.

Santonio Holmes' contract only has a cap hit of $2.45 million in 2011, so it's possible the Jets could still sign Nnamdi. I see a big problem coming for the Jets in a couple years when Holmes, Sanchez, David Harris, Revis, and potentially Nnamdi's big cap hits come, but it's clear the Jets are only worried about this year.
