SI.com's Don Banks reports the Seahawks and Dolphins will battle for free agent QB Matt Flynn. The Browns are believed to be a third option, though Banks suggests he would only go to Cleveland if the offers from the other teams are underwhelming. Per Banks, the loser in the Flynn derby between Seattle and Miami "probably becomes Ryan Tannehill's next team."

I am one of the ones that thinks ESPN is little more than a gossip rag but I've always liked Adam Schefter, even if I wasn't entirely happy when he signed on with ESPN and think the guy could learn to spell a bit better.

Lions freed up another 7 million in cap space today with that signing

Megatron passes Fitz with 7-year, $132M deal

Lions signed Calvin Johnson to a seven-year, $132 million extension through the 2019 season.

Megatron is on a plane headed to Detroit for the 1:00 p.m. press conference. Johnson's $18.86 million per season and a record-breaking $60 million guaranteed top Larry Fitzgerald's $16 million per and $50 million guaranteed respectively, making him easily the highest-paid receiver in the NFL. The long-term contract frees up cap space for the Lions, perhaps enabling a Stephen Tulloch signing. More importantly, Detroit has locked in the game's most dominant skill-position talent. From a fantasy perspective, the deal cements Johnson as the most valuable asset in Dynasty leagues while stabilizing Matthew Stafford as a top-five quarterback.

I knew the guy would be a bust coming into the NFL, not the smartest player around and when one of the nice things they say about you at the Combine is you can make a 60 yard pass from your knees that's not a good sign. Also knew Smith would be mediocre, guy went #1 overall due to need not talent and was also over-rated due to finishing school in 2 years, as if that has anything to do with being a good NFL QB.

how's christian ponder going to pan out then?? that was a big upside to him...he's a smart guy b/c he finished school in 3 years or something and b/c of what he went for....didn't he go to be a lawyer or something??
