Bills signed DE Mark Anderson to a four-year contract.
Look for Buffalo to release DL Dwan Edwards in the coming days. Anderson is a one-trick pony pass rusher, but he will add explosiveness off the edge in Buffalo's nickel package. The 29-year-old racked up 12.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in New England last season, including 2.5 playoff sacks. With Mario Williams set to play left end, Anderson figures to be the Bills' primary right defensive end, rushing off the weak side. With stud tackles Marcel Dareus and Kyle Williams plugging the interior, you can make a good argument that Buffalo now has a top-five defensive line in terms of sheer talent.

Carmichael has been with the Saints since 2004. The fact that he was there during Bountygate could hurt his chances at getting the interim head coaching job (or a future head coaching job as he's considered one of the league's top assistants), but he may try and say he didn't know about the bounties since he was an offensive assistant. I wouldn't be surprised if they give the job to Spagnola though since he wasn't there when the bounties were going on and he's got head coaching experience.

Just read the ESPN article on the Saints. Holy Crap! That is a hard set of penalties, but as I think about it, it was 100% justified.

Tebow trade may be nixed

Quote:
Report: Tim Tebow trade to Jets may be nixed

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the NFL has encountered "hangup language" that could nullify the Jets' trade for Tim Tebow.

Schefter doesn't have finite details, but the deal has not been approved by the NFL. Per Schefter, the Rams "could wind up getting back into play" if the trade is nixed. The Jaguars and Packers also had interest in Tebow. Stay tuned.

I don't think he is speaking nonsense.

I am firmly a believer that Romo would have rings with the Aikman teams.

I'm also a firm believer that Aikman wouldn't have won a damn thing with the current Cowboys.

But people will continue to believe what they will, that Romo sucks and the current Cowboys are all his fault in spite of the fact that he's probably the best player on the entire team, and almost no players on the team are even close.

I'm not the huge Romo fan I was a few years ago but I think he's one of the best QBs in the league and with a better team around him could definitely lead us deep into the play-offs every year. We've completely overhauled the offensive line, hopefully the defense is next, going to need every advantage we can get with next year's bear of a schedule.

I really don't understand why the Patriots didn't put more of an effort into re-signing BenJarvus Green-Ellis. He wasn't a great back but he never fumbled (literally, never in his NFL career) and averaged 4.0 yards per carry in his career. I know they have Woodhead and drafted 2 running backs last year but Stevan Ridley hasn't shown that he can handle the main running back role and got benched for the AFC title game and Super Bowl after losing a fumble against Denver and Shane Vereen barely played last season. I can't imagine Green-Ellis was that expensive and think he was worth keeping.

Tebow has about $5 million worth of recapture language in his contract, meaning the Jets would have to pay back some money to Denver, and the Jets might be unwilling to do that.

The same money issues in Tebow's contract that the Jets must confront caused complications for Jacksonville trying to complete a trade for Tebow early, sources told Schefter.

Same here, Benny. I was a bit surprised by that news as well.

Belicheat doesn't really pay free agents but yeah they will most likely regret letting one of the more solid runningbacks in the league get away. Still think it's funny Gang Green traded for Tebow without going over his contract properly first.
