That's what I'm afraid of. I would feel better picking him in the late teens/early 20's.

There's some speculation that Cleveland will take Tannehill at #4, although everything they say indicates they intend to have McCoy as their starter next year. I don't think Cleveland will take him at #4 but I could definitely see them taking him at #22 with their second first round pick so I think if Miami wants him they should try and trade down to the late teens. The problem is it really doesn't sound like there's any teams that want to trade up. I wouldn't be shocked if Miami takes Tannehill at #8.

Yeah, even the Rams are willing to trade down again. Maybe a team like Cincinnati that has 2 1st round picks would be willing to trade up, assuming the Bengals have targeted a player in the top 10.

Yahoo's Jason Cole believes there's "almost zero chance" Patriots' franchise player Wes Welker holds out of training camp.
Cole reached his conclusion after "talking to a couple of sources." Welker's player rep said Monday he didn't know if his client would sign his tender, while both Patriots owner Robert Kraft and coach Bill Belichick passed up opportunities at the owners meetings to hint a long-term agreement is near. Welker could skip some of the Pats' offseason program, but ultimately seems unlikely to hold out of camp. That could change if New England doesn't make a meaningful effort to lock him up long-term before the July 16 deadline, however.

The Cowboys' season and playoff hopes were dashed by the Giants in last year's finale at MetLife Stadium.

Now the Cowboys will open up the 2012 there again, facing their division rivals from the Big Apple, who also happen to be the defending Super Bowl champions.

The NFL announced on Tuesday the Cowboys and Giants will kick off the 2012 season on a rare Wednesday night game on Sept. 5.

Typically, the league begins the regular season with a Thursday game but because of President Barack Obama's scheduled speed during the Democratic National Convention, the NFL's first game will be on Wednesday night. And what better way to kick it off then to pit the defending champs against America's Team.

While the Cowboys haven't recently played on the first game of the season, this will mark the third straight year they've opened in a nationally-televised game. The past two years the Cowboys have played on the first Sunday Night Football game – last year against the Jets on Sept. 11 and the previous season in Washington D.C.

The Cowboys and Giants squared off in the 2007 season opener at Texas Stadium, with Dallas winning a shootout 45-35. The two teams have faced each other five times on opening day, with the Cowboys owning a 5-0 advantage.

The rest of the NFL schedule is expected to be released in early April, but the first weekend of games usually get announced during the Owners Meetings. Currently, the league's owners are meeting in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Fox has got to be getting upset about missing out on the Cowboys-Giants game. Cowboys-Giants is one of the most-watched games in the entire league and this is the third straight Cowboys-Giants game that's been on NBC. I would assume when the full schedule is announced the second Cowboys-Giants game will not be in week 17 so Fox is guaranteed the chance to show the game once.

Yeah I gotta remember to ask for that Wednesday off from work, even if I usually don't get Wednesdays off any more. Don't want to be missing what could be our second opening day win against the Giants in the last 6 years.

It could be good in a way for fox though.

They were probably going to lose 1 of the 2 cowboys/giants anyway + there was a chance of packers/giants being the opening game & losing that as well.

This way they most likely still get the giants/cowboys game in dallas + still get to keep packers/giants.

Of course my theory could get blown of the water if nbc ends up getting packers/giants.

I just don't want a qb that won't fit into their plans. Be it Luck or RG3...

Lol I would forever despise the Colts if they took RG3 he turns into Vick/Newton, and we get Luck who goes into Ryan Leaf mode.

He'll definitely go in the 4-6 range, so he'll either go to the Browns (maybe), Buccaneers (probably not), or Rams (definitely if he's available). There's virtually no chance he'll fall past #6. My guess is he ends up with the Rams.

I really think this is being drummed up by the media. The "draft experts" and "insiders" don't have as much to talk about when there's a clear-cut #1 pick like Luck so they're manufacturing controversy where there is none. I don't think there's a single NFL GM who would take Griffin over Luck. Not one.

Consensus opinion I'm seeing on the top NFL draft websites seems to me.

1. Indy - Andrew Luck
2. Washington - Robert Griffin
3. Minnesota - Matt Kalil
4. Cleveland - Trent Richardson
5. Tampa - Morris Claibourne
6. St. Louis - Justin Blackmon
7. Jacksonville - Riley Reiff
8. Miami - Ryan Tannehill

Personally I think Tannehill is no better than a mid-late first round prospect, but thanks to a lack of QB's I'll bet Miami does reach on him at #8.
