I actually remember a time when the peak summer months where baseball was the only sport in action and MLB dominated the sports talk and headlines. These days it's NFL 365 days a year. Always something to talk about with the NFL, and I'm not only talking about the police blotter. Though the Lions are as much fun off the field as on it.

The NFL is changing the start time of the late afternoon games from 4:15 to 4:25 Eastern time. This is being done to get rid of some of the overlap between early and late afternoon games. The regionally televised games will still begin at 4:05.

Every time I think TO hits rock bottom he sinks even lower. First he torpedoed his NFL career, then he went to the indoor football league and got fired there, then he ends up on Dr. Phil with several mothers of his children and now a woman is leaking pics of him doing "suggestive" things on Skype. What's next for the TO clown car?

I think Donovan McNabb is delusional. He said yesterday that there's an 80-90% chance he plays this season, and that he has three (unnamed) teams he's looking at. He said he wants to play for a team with a good running game, weapons on the outside, a defense that's been playing well, and a team that has a chance now. There aren't many teams that fit that description and the few that do certainly wouldn't want a quarterback that has been benched two seasons in a row and that was cut in favor of a rookie by one of the NFL's worst teams last year.

I think it has more to do with personal pride than money. He wants to show he can still be a competent quarterback. I want to see who these 'mystery' teams are.

I've never heard any rumors about him having money problems and it seems like he lives a pretty low-key life, so I have to think he's got a ton of money in the bank. I think he just truly believes he's still a franchise quarterback and if he got the right chance he could finally win a Super Bowl. The thing is McNabb could be a good backup if he was willing to accept that role. He's better than a lot of the backups in the league and could do a good job mentoring a young starter but he clearly believes he's still a star.
