How can athletes be this stupid?

Hardy posted a picture on Twitter of a Bentley speedometer registering over 100 mph Monday morning, with the caption “Ride n in the big B.”

I've done that , No worse than a mom trying to eat a burger, text and keep the kids in order while doing 50+, neither are smart though the other thing to (as I've spent significant time with cars over 100k ) it's allot easier to get from 50-100 then in a minivan, Malibu or even stock base mustang, where he probably gased it and was up and back down real quick. Still not smart, but there is a difference in my op anyway lol

The real stupid thing about the Greg Hardy speeding story is the fact that he has a Bentley. Hardy was a 6th round pick in 2010 and has a 4-year, $1.9 million contract. After taxes, agent fees, and union dues he's probably taking home a little over $1 million total in that span, and he's driving a car that probably cost $100,000 minimum. This is the reason so many athletes end up going bankrupt. Hardy has had a fairly underwhelming career and isn't in line to get a huge contract extension yet he's spending money like he's a multimillionaire.

Regarding the Jaguars Kicker Josh Scobee and his new contract. I think it's a bit too much for a kicker. He can be "money" at times, but when he misses one FG, he goes into a short cold streak which is usually late in the season. By any means, he's not one of the elite kickers. He's reliable, but not as great as our former kicker in the 90's in Mike Hollis. Scobee does have one of, if not the strongest legs in the League. I'll give him that since he can kickoff pretty deep and nail 55+ yard FG's.

The California Highway Patrol says Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was arrested in the Oakland area for investigation of DUI.

Officer Peter van Eckhardt said late Monday that the 26-year-old Lynch was arrested early Saturday in the city of Emeryville.

Lynch was taken to the Santa Rita Jail, where he was cited and later released. Van Eckhardt says Lynch took a chemical test but it wasn't clear whether that was a blood or breath test.

In June 2008, he pleaded guilty to a traffic violation and admitted to driving off after striking a female pedestrian with his car near the downtown bar district in Buffalo, N.Y.

In March 2009, Lynch pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge in Los Angeles, after police discovered a semiautomatic handgun in a backpack located in the trunk of a parked car Lynch was sitting in.

With 2 prior guilty pleas I would expect at least a 4 game suspension for Lynch and I wouldn't rule out an 8 game suspension.

Dez Bryant’s mom tells 911 dispatcher he “tried to kill me”

As if the news couldn’t get worse for Dez Bryant, the 911 call from his mother, which was released Tuesday, adds another disturbing element to an already disturbing case.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Angela Bryant said during her call to authorities her son “tried to kill me,” and that she was going to “put an end to it today.”

Angela D. Bryant told police that her son hit her across the face with a ball cap, pulled her hair, tore her shirt and bra, and repeatedly struck her, according to records released by the DeSoto Police Department.

“He won’t go home. I keep telling him to go home. He won’t go,” she told the dispatcher.

She told the dispatcher no one was using drugs or alcohol, and when asked if anyone was armed, said “not yet” but that her son had picked up a ball and tried to hit her with it.

“And then he grabbed me. You’ll see when you get here how my clothes look,” she told the dispatcher.

Ireland knew Dez Bryant's dad was a pimp and Dez (allegedly) said his mom worked for his dad so Ireland asked if his mom was a prostitute. I really didn't think the question was that out of line after Dez admitted his mom worked for his dad. Dez's mom also spent time in jail in the mid-90s for dealing crack and got probation in 2009 for selling crack.

More details on Marshawn Lynch's arrest are out. My favorite part is he was driving a Ford Econoline van.

The California Highway Patrol says Lynch was driving a Ford Econoline van and had two near collisions with two other vehicles. The arresting officer said Lynch showed “objective signs of intoxication” and failed field sobriety tests. He later submitted to a blood test that showed his blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of .08.
