According to the link Mike Wallace isn't looking for a contract like Larry Fitzgerald's 8-year, $120 million and is instead looking for a deal similar to Vincent Jackson's 5-year, $55 million deal. Supposedly the Steelers offered Wallace a 5-year, $50 million deal, so if the report that Wallace wanted a contract similar to Jackson is true then it seems odd that the team would move on from Wallace because the sides were fairly close, although the issue could have been guaranteed money.

Mark Anderson has been looking like a stud in the first several days of camp for Buffalo. I can't wait to see our improved defense once the season starts.

So oline injuries and issues have caused me after the first weekend practice to reevaluate my hopeful 8-8/9-7 to 4-12 Or 5-11

Speaking of Redskins...

To Protect A Dan Snyder-Owned Radio Station, The Redskins Banned A Competing Station From Airing RG3’s Press Conference

Quote:
D.C. station 106.7 The Fan planned to air it live too, and were all set to broadcast. Until three minutes before it started, when Redskins PR guy Tony Wyllie (more on his "accomplishments" here) approached 106.7 with a threat: don't broadcast the press conference, or we'll revoke your credentials.

Wyille told Dan Steinberg at D.C. Sports Bog that the Redskins were "protecting our radio partners." Namely, ESPN 980, which is owned by Red Zebra Broadcasting, which is owned by Dan Snyder.

Nothing technically wrong with that, as NFL rules allow teams to grant exclusivity rights as they wish. But Steinberg called up five other NFL teams, and all five said they'd never bar a specific station from airing a presser live, considering it has legitimate news value in the local market.

So terrified with this oline

Kendall Wright has signed with the Titans, leaving Justin Blackmon as the only unsigned first round pick.

Blackmon needs to realize his stupidity has cost him a cushy contract and just sign one with lots of clauses and incentives, with all his talent it shouldn't be that hard for him to supplant Robinson as the #1 receiver.

Giants safety Tyler Sash has been suspended 4 games for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing drugs. Sash released the following statement:

Quote:
“I took a prescription drug (Adderall) legally under a doctor’s care for an anxiety condition during the offseason in March of this year. The purpose was to help me with public speaking appearances,” Sash said in a statement. “I had no idea that this prescription drug was banned by NFL policy. Although I take full responsibility for this situation, I also want to state that I have never cheated or taken performance-enhancing drugs, and I frown on those who do.

“I am highly disappointed by the league’s decision in this matter, but I will continue to do my best on and off the field.”

We'll also get our first look at the replacement referees since the league has a lockout going on with the real refs.

The Browns have been sold to Steelers minority owner Jimmy Haslam. Haslem paid over $700 million for a controlling interest in the team and will pay another $300 million at a later date. It is believed that former Eagles president Joe Banner is involved with the purchase in some way. The sale still needs to be approved by the other owners, but that seems like a mere formality.

Browns fans should be happy with this. Randy Lerner was arguably one of the biggest absentee owners in sports and never seemed to really care about the Browns. He inherited the team from his dad in 2002 and in recent years seemed to care more about his soccer team Aston Villa.

are you worried your Packers won't get as many favorable calls this year with back-up refs in place? after the abomination of the refs essentially giving the Packers 14 points in that loss to the Giants, i wouldn't want "real refs" refereeing either

Does this mean the Steelers and Browns merge teams? I'm sure there are maybe 3 or 4 guys on the Browns who could make the combined team.

F*ck the "Squeelers"

Randy Lerner was a terrible owner and I'm sure is dad (Al) is rolling over in his grave. Randy cared more about his English Premier League soccer team (bunch of whining, diving mama's boys).....PATHETIC. .....Glad he's gone.

This sums up Browns Backers feelings (myself included) EVERYWHERE:

Now all the Steelers have to worry about is the Ravens and Bengals since the Browns, of course, will be folding every time they play
