I am very sorry this happened and this could happen to any professional installer, but in all fairness and from what I can tell from reading the thread, LG's OLED wall mount was anchored into sheet rock. I just wanted everyone to know it's 100% safe and okay to use any of LG's wall mounts when the mount is anchored into studs.
Also LG has a new wall mount for the 2015 65EG9600, the OTW-150. -Robert |

Must have been this "professional installers" first day on the job. I just now read that AV thread. The most telling thing... The installer has to bring a builder to remake the wall. As pointed out...your installer should know to make the wall correct for any mount himself. If he can't, he's "just some guy that hangs stuff". Last edited by schan1269; 05-16-2015 at 08:38 PM. |

"During a recent event, LG Electronics USA product development director Tim Alessi said OLED technology delivers perfect black, which “sets the foundation for color and brightness.” Perfect black, he said, “delivers any requirement of HDR.”
This link was used to start another thread, but it clearly belongs here since it covers a firmware update for the LG 55&65EG9600 that will enable HDR. http://www.twice.com/news/tv/lg-plan....7ZpopC7C.dpuf |

Forbes article by Archer re HDR firmware updates has been updated. Seems HDR may only be available for streaming from the Netflix, Amazon, etc. apps on the display. Archer is trying to get more info from LG on possible support for UHD BR via HDMI. Could this be a HDMI 2.0a issue?

Anyone have any more thoughts on banding caused by physical stress on the curved displays?
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...3&postcount=68 EDIT:Anyone still have issues with dark banding on the sides of the panel? Maybe a call to the LG VIP customer service will help. They are now discussing a mother board issue rather than stress as the cause. http://www.avsforum.com/forum/40-ole...l#post34417234 Last edited by raygendreau; 05-22-2015 at 06:26 PM. |

A new review of the UK 55EG960V. It mentions the HDR and Web 2.0 updates. It suggests counting the stars in Gravity will show you the difference between OLED and LCD.

Yesterday I was at Best Buy and a 9600 was returned.
The buyer originally purchased a Samsung 65JS9500, returned it and purchased the 65EG9600. Had it for a few days, discovered the 9600 did not have HDCP2.2 (which I thought it did), returned the set and purchased the 65JS9500 again. I bet B.B. loves this guy. Doesn't the 9600 have HDCP 2.2? If not, I sure hope the 65EF9500 that is arriving in August does. |

According to the LG spec sheets and manuals the only LG OLED 4K Ultra HD model on the market that has HDCP 2.2 is the 65 inch LG 65EC9700 for $11,999.99. If these spec sheets are correct then most likely LG will discontinue production on all the old OLED models and release new models. Not having HDCP 2.2 feature is unacceptable for high-end 4K displays in the middle of the year 2015.

The LG 65EC9700 only has one HDMI input that supports HDCP 2.2. That means if one has a new 4K cable box, new 4K satellite receiver, future 4K ATSC 3.0 external tuner, and a future 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player then one will have to own a external HDCP 2.2 switching device like a A/V receiver.
Hopefully future models of 4K Ultra HD displays will have the HDCP 2.2 feature on all the HDMI inputs, not just one HDMI input. |

Man, my tvs are still bothering my head. But the oled is the worst. It sucks because I really have come to the conclusion that I would love to keep the oled as my set, but it practically made me feel like I would have a seizure or something weird like that, due to my head issue.
Some movies look ALMOST as good on my pro-101fd. But some look like crap. Maybe due to ABL or something. I'm trying to sell my oled (EA9800) and two elites (111fd), but never find buyers still. And how pathetic LG is still too lame to make good calibration controls and every single oled model ahs color accuracy issues. Sigh. I do have the numbers looking nearly perfect for grayscale and gamma, though. One mode with only the i1d3 and one with it profiled off of a i1 pro rev d. |
