I agree, I believe there is a disconnect here still.

We won’t truly find out if there is a difference until comprehensive tests can be done between the different model numbers, which I am sure will happen soon enough from critic websites. I am guessing we will start seeing any different results once they start to review the E6 and can compare to the G6.

But I would also be curious to hear what Robert finds out, as well.

From what I was told there is no discernable difference between the G6 and E6 in regard to picture performance.

We will be testing and measuring all parameters of the E6 and comparing them to the G6.

I'll be receiving my G6 in a week or so (a straight exchange from LG) and I'll be happy to answer any questions people still have about the set to the best of my ability. Obviously, there's a lot of info out on AVS as well, where I also post. I'll supplement however I can.

Just wanted to cover another concern about the B6 not being included on Netflix's list of "Recommended TVs". All TVs must be tested by Netflix and since the B6 was not available for testing it was not included at this time.

Since the B6 video specs are much the same, as is the webOS 3.0, therefore, I do expect the B6 will be added to Netflix's list of recommended TVs in the next few weeks.

Here is an article from Britain's HDTVtest explaining why there could be differences in PQ between B6, C6, E6 and G6

Somebody got their 55" E6 and shared some pics at AVS, and it would appear that it's graced with 4 HDMI ports:

@Robert:
On last year's sets only LG's own bluetooth headphones were supported.
If you have any bluetooth headphones around in your store, could you give it a try and see if that is still the case with the G6?
Would be great if I could use my Sennheiser and Plantronics BT headphones.

Already a longtime member here.

Robert, whenever you get around to your HDR shootout over there on the east coast, it would be wise and rewarding to include some challenging content like a star field in a nighttime sky (which is available in a mainstream Hollywood movie) as was utilized in a project to assess HDR picture quality performance published in a recent Journal of the SID…. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journ...ISSN)1938-3657

@Yappa, I'll check out our G6 tomorrow with Sony's Bluetooth headphones and get back with my findings.

Penton-Man, thanks for the excellent suggestion. I followed the link, but it did not go to the Hollywood movie. I'd love to display a nighttime star field from a popular Hollywood movie that is available in HDR. Can you tell me which movie it was?

Thanks all!

-Robert

As with other things, I often believe a journey makes the prize that more precious, plus, in regards to source material for a shootout, I’d prefer not to show favoritism to any particular studio’s HDR mastering.
So, you’ve got connections at Samsung Display, do you not?
Contact David….https://sites.google.com/site/davidhoffman3d/home

Kindly inform him you’re interested in obtaining one of the sources (star field in nighttime sky) he and his colleagues used in their project (8th manuscript down from the top….*VHF2-4L* here -> http://idw.or.jp/award.html and ask him how to go about thee procurement of said source material.

If you feel the need to add a little charm to the request, tell him we/you participate in an advanced user forum where we’ve been reading and discussing his and Marty’s work since at least 2013.

Not sure why our C6s were delayed, but they shipped from LG's distribution warehouse yesterday along with the 55" E6s.

65" E6s are scheduled to ship tomorrow.

Just set-up our store demo of Sony's MDR-XB950BT Bluetooth headphones and they work perfectly with LG's G6. I have not tested them with the E6, C6 or B6, but assume they will also work. To set-up the Bluetooth headphones go to "settings" "sound out" "LG Sound Sync/Bluetooth" and then "device selection". After the LG TV is set-up just follow the Bluetooth headphone instructions to finish the set-up.

BTW, they sound great!

-Robert

Great, thank you, Robert. This will come in handy.

You said you tried the Sony headphones on an E6? Does that mean that the 55E6 that shipped yesterday already arrived today? Or is that a separate store demo that LG provided to you?
Any input lag results?

EDIT:

Haha, okay you edited your posting.
Thanks for the advice.

The E6 was at another LGE dealer I spoke with. Mind are in transit. I wanted to personally test the Bluetooth headphones before posting.

I can't test for input lag as David Mackenzie that the Leo Bonder tester. I should see David the week of 4/25.
