My info is the B6 is scheduled to launch mid to the end of June. But surprises do happen and my company and a few other LG dealers received a token allotment of 55" C6s two weeks ago. Beautiful display!

Do you think there is any chance of seeing the 55 B6 anywhere around 1500 any time this year?

Sorry to be so brief, but no that's very unlikely. It's launching at $3k by the end of June in very limited supply and supply will be constrained throughout the year.

That's very unfortunate. They came pretty damn close to that last gen with the 9100, and it seems logical that their 2016 lowest end model should be even better priced, or at the very least start at the same price. They probably cant because they are all 4K with HDR this year. If they really want OLED to survive they have to have another big price cut like the one we saw when OLED finally went below 10K and then below 5K.

They shouldn't have stopped making 1080 OLED's so quickly, but then again I myself really want to go 4K an OLED at the some time whenever I make the jump. It seems now if I really want OLED I am probably stuck with the 9100 because I can't spend 3 grand on a TV. Even 1500 is pushing it for me but its doable.

Good point, but consider this also... OLED display technology exploits the new 4K HDR TV System so you get a very big bang for your buck with a new 4K HDR OLED TV.

This is important for now and gets even more important as more 4K HDR content comes along.

Also for 2016 all TV manufacturers are mostly offering 4K HDR TVs and for 2017 it looks like we'll only have 4K displays.

Yeah I understand. Maybe they should have just made one more model, lets call it an A6, with 4K and the rest but without the HDR (or 3D). They could probably have sold a 55 inch of that for a more competitive price.

I am surprised at this point we still haven't seen a single OLED set go below 55 inch. Is it a technical issue or something? Is their something technical preventing the possibility of a 42 inch OLED tv? I myself just went recently to a 50 inch for the first time (been living with 32 inch my whole life) and now that I have one I could never go back to 32 inch. I don't even want to down 42 inch now, but if it was the only way I could afford a 4K OLED I may be able to live with it.

That said I really want to go to 55, sounds like the perfect size for me because I'v really been enjoying my 5080 and an extra 5 inches I think would be perfect (and probably the max my room can do)

Robert,

Will the G6 accept bluetooth connection from an iPhone? I was wondering if you can play music from iPhone through G6 soundbar. Also, are you hearing any plans for LG to release a 4k UHD blu-ray player that will do both HDR10 and Dolby Vision?

Many thanks!

I would say, yes, but I have not personally tried it. The G6 is Bluetooth capable and we use Sony Bluetooth headphones and they work beautifully.

I have not heard of any native 4K Ultra HD LG Blu-ray player announcements yet. Dolby Vision HDR is used for 4K streaming for VUDU and Netflix. HDR10 is used on 100% of the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs.

Therefore the ideal 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player should have both HDR10 and Dolby Vision.

Thank you... That was my next question. So Dolby Vision is only used for streaming? For example the 4K UHD blu-ray for Mad Max Fury Road is HDR10 and to see in Dolby Vision you must stream the movie on VUDU? So if you have a Sony or Samsung 4K UHD TV and watch try to watch Mad Max Fury Road in Dolby Vision it will convert to HDR10 or just 1080P? Hope I'm making sense. Thanks again.

Dolby Vision is most likely to come to Ultar HD BD this summer/fall. Sony Pictures is supporting Dolby Vision.

Sony, Panasonic, and OPPO will also launch UHD BD players this year. LG is likely to also announce a UHD BD player this year. Hopefully they will all decode DV.

I'm leaving early tomorrow morning for a trade convention and I'll be presenting on the new 4K HDR TV system to 300 dealers and manufacturers. After my presentation I have a one on one meeting with the manufacturers scheduled and one item on my agenda is UHD BD players.

Really looking forward to your thoughts and what you learned from the manufacturers.

BY the way Robert, my "wife" really loves her new OLED for Mother's Day. She'll probably get me a new vacuum cleaner for Christmas.

HDR is currently only used for 4K Ultra HD content, not 1080P. As Robert mentioned Dolby Vision might be used on future 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs. Also keep in mind all 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray players that support HDR, also support both HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Getting the display that supports HDR is also needed to view HDR content.

Actually not sure all 4K BD players support Dolby Vision, I don't think Samsung's 4K HDR UBD-K8500 BD player supports DV.

Dolby Vision is only being used with some VUDU titles and maybe Netflix? So if you go with a 4K UHD TV such as a Samsung 4k SUHD that only supports HDR10 your safe that the 4K blu-rays only do HDR10 and not Dolby Vision.

Robert have you watched any VUDU content like Mad Max Fury Road or Man of Steel both title available with Dolby Vision on LG 4K UHD OLED? Just curious how it looks.

Thank you!

@ Yappa, I would not bet the farm on that. Let's wait for the final specs for Panasonic, Sony and OPPO's 4K BD offerings. Sony Pictures is supporting DV and hopefully LG will announce a 4K BD player by the end of the year and they support DV on all Super UHD LCD/LED and all 4K OLED TVs. So no final decision at this moment.

Mr. Joshua, Sorry I have only viewed Netflix, Amazon Video and several 4K BD titles so no comment on VUDU.

Quick question. Has anyone seen/watched any 3D content on the E6 yet. I'm curious how big of an upgrade is it from 1080p since there is no 4K 3D content.
