People with those top performing OLEDs have a great TV but if you look at the older LG models, there are more than a few teething issues left and there's not much choice other than LG right now. We need more manufacturers competing in the OLED space with their own unique flavour. Sony, Samsung and Panasonic are capable of top tier displays and have form. LG is doing really, really well and I applaud them but they're still behind the curve in some areas. Sony for example are know for some of the absolute best colour reproduction courtesy of their movie business experience whilst Samsung have an amazing motion resolution system on LCDs nobody seems to be able to touch and Panasonic I'm not 100% sure on which gen panel they used, but think it was a 2015 equivalent and showed themselves to be quite capable of outdoing LG in some areas albeit some will think it's negligible given what the price differential is. |

No plans to replace 5 of my BD players with UHD players and i still record with two S-VHS vcr's. Plus there is nothing to see in 4k and can't really notice a diff in my bedroom being 11ft away from a 60" screen from 4K to 1080P lee. |

![]() OLED provides great video when viewing special demos made specifically to showcase the panel. When it comes to realistic viewing see if you can find any store showing a football game, hockey, baseball, and even the upcoming Olympics on it. Not even and action / adventure movie is to be seen. These were standard for plasmas on display and the present LCD/LED tv's. I would take one over an LCD for sure, but no way trade my plasma for an OLED at this stage of the game. Plasma owners like myself want a display I can use everyday for everything and not one good for continues play of a slow mo demo ![]() motion= forbidden topic in OLED land. Trust me , I want to see OLED be successful. It's beautiful but glitchy which is to be expected from any new technology. If you have to have the newest and have the extra cash, then go for it. That's how manufacturer's learn what needs to be fixed. I just cannot recommend spending 5-10k for this year's model. |

Since you know how to ask the right questions, can you give us a right answer? Oled is not near perfect, but given what is available, what else would you rather use? |

For every issue they find on Oled I can find 3 issues we can find on LED panels. No technology is perfect but it's about making smart decisons and going with the least flawed technology avaialbale out there

never said get an LED.....couple of years ago at the VE shootout after Panny left the plasma game, all that was left was LCD's and the first gen OLED tv's. At the end of the night I asked the pro's..so which tv would you recommend and own..their answer..NONE.
Vinnie:sorry you had issues with the Panny ZT..I have some with my VT. Screen wipe clears out anything after a good hour or so. We should have kept our Kuros' I'll always regret selling it but had no room for 2 large screen sets. I'm sure I'll get into an OLED set somewhere down the road when others start to manufacture them. Leaving it up to LG to do the grunt work isn't fair but at this point I guess LG has the money to afford it. The others have too much money elsewhere or already took one on the chin in new technology investments. |

good to hear your opinion on motion. Can you provide a little more about sports and action movies on your OLED. |
