I don't think it's a good price. The Complete Saga offers about the same price in a much nicer packaging. Although this set comes with DVDs, which I don't think it's good.

One thing that annoyed me the most with this Blu-ray release is the edits that were made to the films, especially in Attack of the Clones. If these same edits remain in these new DVDs, then I think it's better to remain to the original DVD releases.

The only way they could get me to bite on this is if the DVDs included were proper anamorphic widescreen releases of the original trilogy.

But I know that's not happening, so no thanks lol.

Fox pulling a Warner. Let's re-release the exact same discs and material, but let's throw in a DVD so the packaging looks slightly different.

They will lose the distribution rights by 2020, it's only natural that they 'milk' this as much as they can. Not to mention that there is always demand for it.

You might want to wait until Episodes VII-IX to be released and buy the 18 disc Ultimate set in 2020.

Fox is notorious for repackaging the same movies. They do it all the time. At least with Warner, they wait till some Anniversary, and there's usually a chance of getting some new extras.

It would have been nice if they included the bonus discs for each respective trilogy.

I expect we'll see more of this as it seems to never end with certain titles.

Just let Fox enjoy the time they have left with the subsequent ANH films (less a miracle happens and they renew distribution). They'll always have ANH, Disney can never take that away from them.

Question is what will the DVD discs be; the Blu-ray versions, the debut DVD versions, or to some consent the OOT for the IV-VI set?

I wouldn't mind if they included the DVD extras (not going to happen, I know). They were among the best packed DVDs as far as extras goes.

Damn. I'm such a sucker. Assuming these are amarays, I love the packaging on this. I might well buy it, take the dvd copies out, and put the special features discs in from the saga pack. I hated the book they put out.

With 6 discs included, it's highly unlkely to be an amaray case release. It's either a digipack, or a disc slit version like the Complete Saga release.

If it's a digibook, Warners will have saved me some cash. ha. So, I suppose I'm half rooting for that. But, it could be 6 discs. The Star Trek original series sets were amaray and 6 discs. The 3rd season was even a slimmer casing that would be about the size of these pictures. We'll see though. Again, I'm a sucker for the repackaging double dip.

Slim cases are a possibility too I guess. Fox did re-release some box sets with those in the past too.
