Hey guys, I really loved watching Star Wars Clone Wars 2008 as the stories were aimed at a mature audience and I also LOVED how there were so many episodes focused on the battle droids.
I was planning on going back and watching the 2003 show, but I've only seen 1 or 2 episodes. How does the 2003 show compare to the 2008 show? Does it have mature story lines as well? Thanks! |

It's different, although they both follow an anthology format. Neither of them are aimed at a mature audience though. Still, it's worth watching. It's short, so it won't take that much time to go through the whole series. The animation is also more stylized. The best reference is Samurai Jack, which is also from Genndy Tartakovsky.
My favourite episode is probably Chapter 3 with the ARC troopers. ![]() |

Thanks, but how can you say that Clone Wars 2008 isn't for a mature audience? What about those episodes with the Jedi General Krell? Those were really dark!

Having dark/serious moments doesn't make it exclusive or made for mature audiences, just like having light/fun moments doesn't make it for children alone. Like the movies, they're made for everyone, young and old.

In my opinion, Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003-2005) was geared for a more mature audience than Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-2013). The whole of Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003-2005) is only 133 minutes, so if you can find it in its entirety, just watch the whole thing. It is not considered cannon any longer however, though some do like to watch them in this order as Volume 2 leads right up to RotS:
Star Wars: Clone Wars - Volume 1 Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Movie) Stars Wars: The Clone Wars - The Complete Season One - Five Star Wars: The Clone Wars - The Lost Missions Star Wars: Clone Wars - Volume 2 |
