I think that I'm going to send it into Netflix for a replacement disc as it could just be a bad copy.

Not sure if this is the place to put this but my PS3 has the yellow light of death and has FIFA World Cup 10 stuck in it. Was wondering how I could get the game out. I was going to buy a new PS3 instead of sending it into Sony. If i send it into Sony how long will the PS3 last? What would you guys do send it in or buy a new one. Sorry if this needs to be moved.

Sympathies. Only way to get the disc out is to disassemble first the PS3 and then the BD-drive. Probably better off doing a quick and dirty reflow. If you send it in, they send your disc back, of course.

Ugh, hope we get a class action one of these days.

anyone help me with problem on my slim would be great ihad old fat 40 took a crap so i got slim, anway i logged back into account redownloadded everything thats all good but it wont let me watch video content i bought of psstore it tells me another system has to be deactivated, but i cant deactivate cause old fatboy 40 is laying in the back yard by the traintracks broken to peices because i played football with that piece of sh*t i try to activate the new slim but says the old one needs to be deactivated first i dont know what to do, hate to make new account and lose my mappacks for waw and mwf and all my other dlc

Yeah, you're screwed. Either DIY YLOD repair so you can deactive cause you can't do through the web only from the custom. Or spend some time on the phone.

I hate hate hate Sony's system for video... especially that they "activate" movie trailers. Retarded! I used to love pulling trailers from the game store... now don't use the PS3 for trailers hardly at all. Have downloaded a couple videos I didn't want to own from the PS Store and no real complaints but I'm just not a renter and prefer to buy BD's I like. Buy to own from PSN? hell no, not with the PS3 long term reliability so suspect in my mind.

uxi thamks but i am not out of luck like you said i called and support said they will have my old system deactivated in 48 hours, thankgoodness cause it saved me about 200 dollars thanks for the advise and mmy blu collection is wrong i havwe 317 blu's and 8 ps3 blugames

Sadly my 60GB PS3 has started freezing up during playback of Blus. Usually it's about 15 minutes in like clockwork. It still plays DVDs okay, but it sounds like a jet engine revving up for takeoff.

I'm not sure if I want to call Sony or just buy a slim. What would you do?

my 60GB PS3's wireless network card appears to be kaput. it sees my router when i scan for wireless networks, but it can never connect. although, it did once last week after gaming for about an hour. it just suddenly logged in to PSN, but has not ever since. it is not an issue with my router, because the PS3 upstairs is connected. and it is not a proximity issue, because i work with my laptop online in the basement all the time.
any ideas? is it replaceable?

Have you tried using a wired connection?

In theory a A USB wireless adapter should work.

Is it under warranty? If yes, then get it fixed for free. If no, then do you play PS2 games? If not then I'd buy a slim personally (which I did).

It is replaceable afaik, I would test it closer to your router before calling it dead (put it where your 2nd PS3 is and test there). Your laptop nic might be stronger than the PS3 one so it can connect easier.

Long past warranty. I only throw in PS2 games on rare occasions and they all work fine. I think I'll probably get a slim and leave the old one around when I feel the need to pop in an old game.

It can sit next to the Japanese launch PS2 which has never had a hiccup.

Crap. My original 60 GB PS3 finally caught the Yellow Light of Death bug. Now my Alpha Protocol disc is stuck in there. And, I don't have enough money to get a new system for a long time.

Okay my player's really starting to act up now and even leaving a little bit of residue on my discs when it ejects them. What's this fan test I'm hearing about that's supposed to fix my ejection problems?
