Ok ive got a problem. Im trying to rent a movie from PSN ive paid for it but when i try to download it I get this message

This PS3 system cannot be activated. This content cannot be used. 1 PS3 systems are already activated for your account. To activate this system you must deactivate another PS3 system.

Its obviously talking about my old PS3 which has died and is in silicon heaven but how do i deactivate my old PS3 when it is YLOD?

Yout gotta call in or do a DIY repair to deactivate from the XMB (can't do it online).

Hello everyone sorry i made a new thread but im extremely pissed ATM. i just returned home from vacation and there seems to be a problem with my ps3. I have the original 60gig and for some reason the red light now constantly blinks. when i go to turn the system on the green light will show then instantly turn to red and start to beep. What should i do?

damn that sucks... something similar happened to me about 2 years ago with my 60gig.. at any time does the light flash yellow? sounds like a hardrive or fan issue... is there a game stuck inside?

Since i had no warranty I had to do a swap out with Sony that cost me $150+tax....

That's known as the Yellow Light Of Death (YLOD). You see a yellow light flash briefly before the red starts blinking.

You have two options.

#1. Contact Sony and send it to them to repair. It costs $150 + tax and you get a refurbished unit sent back to you. You will lose any data on the HDD that is copyright protected (many game saves and almost all DLC is copyrighted). Don't fret though, all DLC previously purchased can be redownloaded for free via the PS Store so long as you use the same PSN ID as before.

#2. Do as I did and save everything at a fraction of that $150 cost:

I have the latest firmware and all the updates, but my copy of Zack and Miri Make A Porno won't load. Any ideas on what to do? It used to work fine.

You should not have posted your phone # dude. You're opening up a lot more issues doing that then just your PS3. I'd see if you can quickly delete that somehow. You could have sent him an email thru his account I believe.

Be sure to check the BD Data utility folder and delete all files related to that movie, and try again

ok so here is the deal i decided to say f it i went and purchased a new model and returned my broken ps3 to game stop they gave me 120 bucks for it

Only when something like this happens. I've had the Gladiator bluray not load, deleted the file on that folder and that fixed it.

Did they know that it was broken? If not and they have your contact info, get ready for a phone call about that.

My understanding is that they do not offer trade-in value on broken hardware.

yes it was broken and they knew it as long as it powered on they are ok with it i told them everything
