I dont know just that last night I couldnt play on the PSN at all. I was constantly getting disconnected.

Before last night, I was getting disconnections more than usual.

Is it possible the PS3 network adapter is dying or something?

Got it back and everything is fine so far! They reflowed the GPU, added new thermal paste and refurbished the unit.

Default Sound issues..

While playing Bfbc2 my sound suddenly shuts off. I don't know what causes it and my hdmi is not loose. All i hear is a sudden small burst of static then no volume. But i can still here people on mics though my tv. Any ideas what might do this? I have to reboot for it to come back. It's done it 2x now, last night and i think the other was sunday.

Has it happened with any other game? My guess is it's a game glitch and not a hardware problem. I've had some weird sound glitches in Resistance 2 from time to time (things like grenades no longer making the explosion noise and gun fire silenced but I can still hear footsteps and chat...these weird occurrences require me to quit the game to fix).

Just with bfbc2 and the first 1. I forgot to say the other did it. It does seem like a game glitch to me too. I been going between Bayonetta which has not done it and the bfbc games.

I'm a newbie to this site and I couldnt find a good place to post this so I was hoping the right person may run across my post and help me or refer it to the right location where I could recieve help.

I was having trouble with my blueray freezing, a lot of people suggested that the lens may need to be cleaned. I attempted to clean it (I have no warranty on it) and I forgot and left the cd in the blueray player, while cleaning it I removed the cd. When I put it back together I cannot get it to accept a cd, it simply doesnt take it. I'm assuming its because the arms in the inside arent placed right but I dont know how to fix it. Does anyone have any advice so I can fix it myself? If I cant do it myself I'm just going to replace the thing which I hope I dont have to resort too.

Thanks for any helpful responses.

To minimize your frustration, just get yourself a new bluray. A lot of selections out there, check the threads on bluray player here for real world reviews of their gear. Good luck.

I got the red light of death on Monday. Had a chance to reflow this afternoon and I'm back in business. I think I need a couple of beers to calm my nerves with after that!

Make sure you get yourself a good backup. Your reflow probably bought you between 1 and 3 months of additional life.

I can't provide a link where I'm at right now, but if you search youtube, Marine Mike has a video showing exactly how to reset the drive for your scenario.

Looks like a good one to me. As long as its Hitachi, Seagate, or Western Digital on the name, I'd purchase it for that price range. Maxtor's on the other hand (both internal and external) can go straight to the firepit. My 250GB HDD in the 60GB Fatty is a Scorpio and haven't had a problem with it since I installed it about 2 years ago.

options:

1) DIY heatgun fix / reflow so you can eject normally
2) disassemble Blu-ray drive
3) Ship it to someone reputable who will ship you back your disc
