Sadly it looks as though my 80GB backwards-compatible PS3 has finally joined the YLOD club. It happened last night as I was about to watch Dredd. It didn't even make it past the studio logo before it shut off with no warning with the disc inside. Fortunately I tried the old hair dryer trick this afternoon and it worked just long enough for me to retrieve my Blu-ray disc

Does anyone know if it's possible to get the Coachella YouTube stream through PS3?
I can't seem to find a way to get it through the app on PS3 and YouTube through the web browser just won't play the live feed. Does anyone know a way to get it? |

*sigh* I never thought it would come to this.
My PS3 recently succumbed to the YLOD while in the middle of playing Fallout 3, just right after exiting Raven Rock in one of the main quests. The disc is still inside, and right now my problem is trying to get the disc out (before sending it to Sony, or probably buying the Slim). I've tried doing the fan test trick, where you have to turn off your console, hold the eject button, turn it back on and let the fans spin like crazy while the disc pops out, but to no avail. It was originally a 60 GB PS3, but replaced the hard drive with an 80 Gig after the original hard drive got corrupted. Please, anybody help? ![]() |

I'm not sure how/why, but my cd import settings reverted to 128kb which I can't stand. I changed it back but don't know how many cd's I've imported with that setting. Other than listening to all of them, is there a way to see which ones were imported at whatever rate? I tried the select button but it only shows AAC and not the rate.
Any help is appreciated. |

I am sure this has been asked many times before (surely by myself as well) but what is the max capacity for a hard drive for the PS3 Slim and PS3 Super Slim?
I understand the whole 9.5MM and 2.5mm requirements. I have a 1TB, but I have read some people talk about having a 1.5TB or a 2TB in there. Is that legit or is that someone just talking shit? If it is possible, can anyone link me with models to get? I would love to just max it out at 2TB and never have to worry about hard drive space again. My friend has a 750GB one I believe, and his is getting close to maxed out. Thanks everyone! |

I am having some audio issue on my slim, guys.
Since around 2 weeks ago or so, I started noticing the low / mid-range (or more specially vocal or the bass when viewing concert BDs) audio sounds a bit "distorted". I already checked and double checked my entire system, and even ran a "test" on a standalone BD player. I can confirm something is not right with the PS3 audio output (both HDMI and Optical). I even rebooted the PS3 twice over, and the audio sounds to "improve" a little, but not exactly back to normal. Any other suggestion? Or is it something fixable? Thanks in advance, guys. |

Weird. Today the game saves online didn't show up. Only one title did out of over 100. The data was still there, it still showed 400MB being used. I fixed it by uploading one file to the online storage and then they all showed up again.

Sounds like the battery went bad. If it's not that then i'm not sure. My oldest controllers are from 08 and still work. I'll probably have to get new batts for them soon.

Hoping someone could help me out.
When using HBOGO or Playing games Audio is fine. However when I playing a Blu-ray or Amazon Prime on my PS3. I can hear background music (soundtrack), but no spoken/audible audio (dialogue and sound effects). What is going on? It is not my blu-ray disc either. I play the same exact movie on my PS4 and it works perfectly. If this information helps I'm using a HDMI btw. Last edited by AlucardtheIII; 07-01-2014 at 08:23 AM. |
