Awesome. There really should be an automated way to do this. Like a "Activate this PS3 and Deactivate the other" - They are both under the same PSN name.

Thanks for your response. Unless I'm mistaken, I think your instructions are for how to set a static IP address, rather than a static route.

I've heard its not good to leave disc in the PS3 when its off?

Somebody said it says it in the manual.

I always do....Then again....I've gone through 2 Blu-ray lasers.

My PS3 did something funny last night, MW2 was in there (under the game icon), i scrolled along to see who was playing what and then back to the disc...but it was gone.

I scrolled back and forth to see if it would appear again but nada. I ejected it and then put it back in and it worked fine.

I'm guessing my lasers on its way out? This is a replacement console for my YLOD too (4 months ago).

I doubt thats necessarily a 'sign' that the laser is dying. However, if it repeats, then I could see it being a sign compared to just a system glitch.

Thanks Mike its the first and only time its done it so fingers crossed. I really can't be bothered with the hassle of sending it off and moving all my stuff for a second time.

My PS3 seems to be running fine so far but it is excessively noisy now , the fan always seems to be running full speed.

Mine has been doing that too more times than not for the past couple of weeks.

well before it broke it did that and than it would shut off but now it just starts loud and stays loud. Very frustrating

Mine did this yesterday with Donnie Darko blu-ray. I put in another blu-ray and it was there immediately, put Donnie Darko back in and than it took about 10 secs and than it showed up. Don't know if it's a thing with that particular blu-ray or what.

id like to give a big round of applause to MARINE MIKE for making this thread because without it i would never have been able to fix my PS3 (YLOD on me)... so thanks mike and everyone else who gave helpful hints.

That was the last Blu-ray my previous laser played before I swapped it out. It was giving mine the same issue you are describing now.

However, when I replaced my laser, I had zero issue whatsoever. Keep in mind, that it would only happen with certain Blu-ray, such as Lionsgate films and some oddball ones here and there that would fail to be read. Though once I did replace it, I was able to read all Blu-ray titles again with no issue.

my ps3 crashed during mw2.
I turned it off, unplugged it,waited,turned back on and all i get is a blinking red light. Is this the rlod? If so, what can i do?

another question: My game is still in the ps3. Is there a way to get it out? if i send it in to get fixed.

Turn it off, unplug it and (hopefully) it will cool down giving you enough time to get the disc out and backup you stuff on there. But as for the PS3 i think it needs to go back mate.

If you send it in to get fixed, they'll return the disc inside. Make sure you tell them though just in case.
