Ukraine Maverick is a global phenomenon ($1.455 billion flick) / @ Mach-10 hypersonic speed

Yesterday Maverick was just cruising smoothly. This weekend we're back to 5 Gs.

Maverick is like ...

Adios Black Panther in about eleven days; Darkstar is taking over.

Please keep it that way, the theaters will need all the business they can get between now and November. After that it will be smooth sailing for theaters at least through the New Year.

Then we can celebrate a brand new year which will hopefully be better for all.

Celebrations will come when there's no more wars in the world, no more violence, no more bullshit, no more corruption, no more power trip, no more floodings, no more droughts, no more toxic disease.

We need flicks like Maverick; it helps to keep the stamina in good spirit. Ya?

It's just 5 million, but still. Maybe some countries were over reporting or the estimate guesses of The-Numbers were too high for the weekend.

I've been through this for several years.
It takes a little while to get the final tallies accurate; it's perfectly normal as currencies change every day and in every country.

The Domestic numbers, no problemo; all sources have the same numbers.
It's the International numbers that can vary by roughly few millions just like you mentioned above. But by the end Wiki uses the Mojo numbers. ...I too.

When Top Gun: Maverick won't be no more playing in theaters (that'll be the day), it would take roughly one week to get the International Box Office numbers in the ballpark.

Quote:
Top Gun: Maverick (Paramount) - Prediction
Domestic gross for this weekend (Aug. 26-28) = $5.3 M
▪︎ Total gross = $691.8 M
Estimated drop compared to last weekend = -10%
Week #14

"Paramount's Top Gun: Maverick is coming off of a fourth place take of $5.91 million, which was a slim 16.1 percent decline from the previous weekend. The blockbuster sequel may hold up even better this weekend, as a 10.4 percent decrease would lead to a weekend take of $5.3 million. At this point, it's only a matter of time until Top Gun: Maverick passes the $700 million domestic mark." - Box Office Report
August 25 (yesterday) - Box Office Mojo
《Maverick》

Grosses
DOMESTIC (48.8%)
$686,462,857
INTERNATIONAL (51.2%)
$720,000,000
WORLDWIDE
▪︎ $1,406,462,857
__________

It is 100% certain that Black Panther would cede its spot to Maverick (#5 in North America).
Personally I estimate that to happen on Labor Day, September 5 (or very close to that date anyway).

As for Worldwide: Frozen II is ranking #11 with $1,450,026,933
I am quasi certain that Maverick will eclipse that number (99%)

I used to check Boxofficemojo every day until they changed their page layout in the most horrible way.
They changed it again for the better since the last time I checked

It seems BOM is posting a nice round number of 720 mil whereas The Numbers seem to have a number that looks realistic, but its probably off and a few days behind $713,496,667

I found the same with the audio. I was expecting my sub-woofer to be working OT with this movie but instead there was never any real boom. No real depth.

Yeah I know. Here's from The Numbers ...
Theatrical Performance

Domestic Box Office: $686,462,857
International Box Office: $713,427,630
Worldwide Box Office: $1,399,890,487

And from Wikipedia ...
• Worldwide: $1.407 billion

* When I check the data for movies I check everywhere, including Box Office Pro and Box Office Report.
And like I said; @ the end it takes roughly one week to tabulate the International numbers when a film stops playing @ the theaters globally. It's not so easy because of several reasons. If you compare the final numbers between Mojo and The Numbers there are some variations with certain films (most often internationally).
It's no big deal because Maverick doesn't give a shtick. It's all about keeping his mojo intact.

Oops! ... Wrong song.

* To be 100% totally frank; those tunes above are not really my cup of tea.
I am more inclined towards the Blues, Jazz, Classical, ...
It depends of the day and my mood @ the time.
I like many music genres and styles ...

Ukraine Keep things simple ...

We can easily see the small variations between The Numbers and Box Office Mojo

Screenshot_20220826-145708_Chrome.jpg

Screenshot_20220826-155718_Chrome.jpg

For example: Frozen II (just look @ the worldwide numbers)
And many other films have variations in their overall numbers (mainly International but also Domestic).
* The #15 position has two completely different films for that reason.

Anyway, nothing to fret about. It won't change the overall outcome when it comes to the phenomenal Maverick.

Keep it simple ...

On the other end a film like T E N Ǝ ꓕ (Christopher Nolan) is NOT so simple.
...Both the storyline and the dialog deciphering.

Alright, have a fantastic weekend everyone. ...IMAX and all.
Wearing a mask won't hurt no one. Maverick is wearing one.

Undecipherable dialog has been a constant "feature" in all his movies for the last 10 years.... no need to single just one movie out, imho
