Merciful father, it was everything I wanted in a trailer for my 3rd favorite movie ever. I see they went the Mission Impossible Fallout route instead of using CGI and I couldnt be happier.

Not really relevant to the movie itself, but I'm a massive military junkie (more modern stuff than past stuff, but I still dig the latter)--and last weekend, I went to an air show, and got to see a ton of F-16s and F-18s up close and personal. It's absolutely unreal to hear how loud and incredible all of that stuff is in person. Audio and video recordings truly don't do it justice.

It's so awesome to see how practical this film is going. This could end up being the event film of 2020--and might tide my over until the next MI installment from McQuarrie and Cruise.

Also, the Sony Venice is a ****ing amazing camera.

The photography in this film looks absolutely immense. I can't even imagine what the inevitable 4K blu-ray will look like!

I'm happy that Tom Cruise is loyal to the people he's worked with, namely Joseph Kosinski. That guy is a rock solid talented underrated director (Tron: Legacy, Oblivion, Only the Brave), and I'm glad Cruise sees that. Can't wait to see Kosinski's growth in skill... and holy sh!t what growth.

Honestly, I think Cruise gets a bad rap for the scientology stuff. He's always seemed like a genuinely good guy to me.

I expected this movie to be a CGI train wreck, instead I can't believe how good, solid and "real" this trailer actually looks. Also, they nailed the mood 100%. This could be the Creed 2 of the Top Gun "franchise".

Yet I think F18 are no match for F14, anyway you have that glimpse after the the titles that gave me the goosebumps... again. It seems they clearly recall which was the one and only, aerial star of Top Gun ;-)
The tomcat put a smile on my face.

Looks awesome, but being that guy, the helmet he is using they would have updated to the huge space helmet they use now, but i know they gotta show his face! lol being a captain if he were attached to a squadron he would be a CAG, I'm guessing from the flight suit he is in in the admirals office he doing some high altitude testing? maybe he crashed something by the marks on his face? any old navy salty dogs wanna chime in? Air dales? i know there are a few in here? i worked on a flattop for a few! be awesome to have him walk into a bar and see "her" and walk out almost throwing up, saying nope! and hauling butt on his cycle! lol

I agree. He puts in 150%, and earns his superstar paycheck by acting, producing, and performing his stunts... all in the name of showing the audience something amazing and giving US an unforgettable experience. I admire his dedication and loyalty to his friends. I don't care what religion he follows, and I'm not concerned with his personal life. It's not any of our business. As long as he's not committing atrocities to mankind or the world and he's just in general being a good dude, then live and let live man.

A lot of this movie was filmed around here, and I actually met Jon Hamm at my favorite restaurant while he was here (he's barely in the trailer. WTF?). The second I mentioned I was a lifelong Blues fan, he bought my husband and I a beer and talked hockey with us for quite a while. Great guy. Would probably see this anyway, but now I gotta see my man Hamm!

The movie is 11 months away. This just just a teaser. It'll probably be a while before the first full trailer.

This is how you do a trailer to invoke nostalgia and interest for a new generation, not that terrible Terminator Dark Fate trailer.
