Ghost
was old fashioned rotoscoping. No CGI involved.

Since you showed due diligence in your vision quest, I will also send you Capote (staring Phillip Seymour Hoffman), i.e. the 2-disc set for continuity.

P.M. me your contact info.
I was getting nervous while searching, but then realized that you heaped the clues on for me. Thank you very much, I look forward to watching both films.

PM being sent...

In my secret fantasy, it's ironic timing because another, better Mel Gibson vehicle is being prepped: Mad Max!

And I'm enjoying this fantasy- don't rush to prove me wrong!

You know, given the way he quoted it...it is quite possible the irony could be something bad. I guess I'm a "glass is half full" kind of guy. But you're right, it could totally be going the wrong way.

Let's speculate, shall we?

Add to this if you desire.

1. It has been put on indefinite hold.
2. It is being release EARLY with a super-duper-mega fresh encode and transfer.
3. It's being (Officially) announced soon
4. It's being offered in a Mel Gibson 2-pack special with Mad Max on May 19th.

There...half full, half empty.

Your turn...

For those with an interest in film restoration, this one has every problem in the restoration guide book, none of them brought about by mishandling -- simply half century old Eastman color elements and vinegary mag tracks.

Well, like the lawyers say “let’s go after the deep pockets” or some such variant of that idea.
I would suggest that you also try Gretchen Wayne (daughter-in-law of John) as she was heavily involved in the Hondo movie restoration (president of Batjac Productions), if she is not already a major contributor.

Also a good idea to contact the people that have made pledges for this of which I was a happy attendee very recently ………..
http://cinema.usc.edu/about/news/world-premiere.htm

meaning, other than Steven and George, also try The Dana and Albert R. Broccoli Foundation (think EON productions, as in James Bond ), Entertainment Partners, The Fran and Ray Stark Foundation, etc.

But every little penny counts, so ante up Blu people!
Which reminds me, Bill Hunt should really do another fundraising drive for Paul Prischman, who has since moved back to Chicago -

So, Hunt-ster, get off the treadmill and get into campaign mode like RAH!

lol,
don’t worry, it’s nothing bad at all but, on the other hand it is not what you think.
Be patient, everything will be revealed very soon. The ‘plan’ was in motion even before you made your post about the TNT airing of one of your favorite movies.

I figured out who Penton is...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWILhrSzw5o

Ok, please point it out when all is revealed...or maybe it will be obvious. Not sure now that it seems it has nothing to do with the actual movie that was on TV yesterday...

BTW, seeing that clip of The Joker made me remember how great a performance Heath gave. You don't even see Heath at all...it's The Joker.

Glad he won. Sad he's gone.

The Wayne family has opened their vaults, which has been extremely helpful, as well as supporting in other ways. We've filled out an application for aid from the Penton Foundation, as well as the Penton Silent Trust and the Penton "5248 Can't Wait" Trust.

I apologize for being off topic, but just wanted to inquire if anyone knew if The Great Race will ever be released on blu-ray? One of my favorite films. Thanks in advance.

Speaking of 5248 it seems that fortunately most big productions shot on Eastman 5248 are still with bigger studios. Raintree County, Ben Hur, Exodus, Oklahoma, Can Can and a few others come to mind as candidates for that trust.

I would think that Warner and Fox are currently doing or have been doing the right thing with their titles, but there is little info on the activities of Universal with movies from that period except for your work on Spartacus and Vertigo.
Regarding Exodus I have always hoped that eventually Universal would give the Exodus the same attention as these two. Still waiting to hear about any activities to that effect.

Who is this French actress and known animal lover?
What role did she play in the attached pic?
What did she whisper to a king on his death bed during the movie?

The first person to offer all 3 correct answers to the above ^ wins La Femme Nikita as promised.
