That's just awful. Deakins had a great website that was really informative.

How are those calibration discs selling so far?
I am not sure yet since I don't actually stock and ship myself. I should have an idea soon.

That is a shame - what happened ?
I am a big fan of his work and kind of got to appreciate by way of the many movies he did with the Coen brothers.

I did not even know he had a site - why did he shut it down completely, isn't there always the option to make it read only ?

That's because it was a very focused chat, largely restricted to one title. So only people keen on restoration and cinematography took part. Its appeal was limited.

On the other hand the Warner chat just got "160+ attendees."

I think it was another case of online harassment of a highly respected and successful professional by a wanna-bee that couldn’t cut it in the real working world of cinematography so, he was persistently taking his frustration out online on Roger using argumentative, then combative and insulting posts addressed to him.
Perhaps even worse.

I didn’t know that Parker and Mike had so many relatives. j/k
So, I guess the consensus is that people prefer marketing V.P.s/Directors to specialized techno film wizards for online chats?

Now, in regards to human females rather than beautiful canine ones.
I am a bit curious as to the online preference of Angelina Jolie vs. Freida Pinto for the next Bond girl. Are online enthusiasts unfair to actresses older than 35 years old? Whom do you desire?

What think ye?
As the cost differential is indeed significant to land the former actress.
In fact, much more costly than it was for this feature film (in production) which, b.t.w. is still on track for a 4k digital intermediate in post.

Bond has always had more success with relative unknowns rather than hollywood names. That being said either would be an interesting choice.

Too bad the latter is going to suffer a lifetime of bad car sex jokes.

I don't know from Freida Pinto (where are my priorities that, at the same time, I can instantly recognize Vilmos Zsigmond?), but I wouldn't want Jolie.

1. As I've already said here, I just don't find her that appealing.

2. More importantly for me, she has way too much 'persona baggage' for me to accept her as a Bond girl, rather than "What's Angelina Jolie doing in this Bond movie?!"

Meanwhile, I'm pleased to report my vote for Olga in Quantum of Solace as the hottest yet, bar none. Nowhere to go but down, probably.*

*Wait... did I say that?

All I know is that my cajones have never really felt the same since the ball busting scene in Casino Royale.

Quantum of Solace was a pretty good continuation of Casino Royale. The only complaint I have with it is the opening title music (by Jack White and Alicia Keys) sucked. Out of Bond movie music that tune ranks near the bottom.

I'd prefer a less well known actress than Angelina Jolie in the next Bond. Seems like the Bond women should have less star power than Bond. Although I didn't know them from a hill of beans before the Bond movie they were in, Sophie Marceau, Rosamund Pike, and Eva Green were all outstanding in their roles.
