I've never had an issue with the CGI on "Warehouse 13".... unlike "Primeval" where the SFX looks like it was rendered in resolution LESS than SD.

Yes, but they're regional (i.e. not all regions of Germany have summer holidays at the same time, but they overlap).

P.S. Will you announce the first SPHE scope movie with subs inside the picture area here on your thread? And can you give us a ballpark estimate how long it'll take?

Christmas stuff is being done right now, late November-December

In the authoring industry, it's really "Christmas in July" cause pretty much everything needs to be done around nowish to make sure it can be replicated in time.

It's also the reason why it's impossible to get anything out of anyone between comic-con and sept 1

I hope you had the opportunity to view the above Dateline show as the program was quite excellent, in my opinion.
So, I’m curious as to what is your favorite performance from the Woodstock concert that is included on the Blu-ray, which I assume you’ve already purchased or rented? –

Well, if I do decide to, it sure as heck won’t be on the subtitle poll thread, as I walked out the door of that house a couple days ago.
Colleagues at Fox and WB can now enjoy the input.

While I've watched the film several times on DVD, I've been (irrationally) waiting 'till this weekend to watch it in its entirety with some friends.

Hard to say what a favourite performance... I'm a =huge= Who fan, and while their Isle of Wight show was a bit more "on", they did certainly bring it that day (Abbie Hoffman incident included )

Naturally the "Freedom" improv by Richie Havens is pretty spectacular, hardly the most complex of lyrics, but a pretty damn cool way to fill time ("No, Richie, keep playing!!!")

But the moment that always made me smile was when CSNY come out and say that this is their second gig. Before I knew anything (you know, in my 20s) I had taken this at face value, unaware of The Byrds/Hollies/Buffalo Springfield background of these guys. Still, they do seem to nail that sweet Suite pretty well.

Again, not a humungoid Hendrix guy, and he's in the film too much IMHO, and Santana's always been pretty low on my list. But the film itself I think is a pretty majestic thing, going way, way beyond "concert film". It's a phenomenal, groundbreaking work of cinema that I think, ironically, gets overshadowed by the iconography of the music. So, yeah, cheers to splitscreen!

I'm no doubt going to "upgrade" my Criterion DVD set of Monterey Pop to the latest BD, just to add to the pain (just did the same with the Who's Isle of Wight show).

Incidentally, my dad tried to go, and they had already closed the Candian border (they did that pretty damn quickly, actually).

I was born the year of the last moon landing, so it falls into that weird time/space continuum, where Woodstock and films like 2001:ASO seem like ancient history, but Star Wars seems like from another age. You know, during my lifetime...

By the way, feel free to kick a Warner exec in the nuts for playing games with this release - the least they could have done for those of us in Canada that had to shell out in US funds for the Amazon bonus material (.ca did not include it) that they could have at least included ALL the material (like they did in the German/UK releases). Bloody, bloody annoying trend as I'm sure you'd agree - it's one thing to have exclusive packaging, and may even bonus content, but to =split= bonus content between Target and Amazon (we don't even have Target up here) is just, well, wrong. Normal and deluxe? Fine. I get it. But their handling of this is just petty, and hasn't got nearly the rage that I think it deserves. Hell, put the content up on BD-Live! I shouldn't have to fly to UK to get the version of Woodstock that all those that bought the version with the tchochkes deserves.

ps. As we're blocked from Hulu, I'm, uh, "acquiring" that Dateline episode in HD by other means. Thanks for the heads up.

I watched Defying gravity last night. I don't know who their science advisor is, but they're spinning up unnecessary BS like the whole "gravity fibers in clothing" thing. It would never work, and even if it did, you couldn't walk or move normally at all. They already have a centrifuge on the ship, why not just use it as an excuse why everything moves right and be done with it? More CG puke gags?

Oh and there's a 2:18 delay on transmissions from earth to venus, so a 5min roundtrip for messages, not real time. Of course this could have easily been dealt withi by saying they discovered pinpoint wormholes they can trasmit through in real time..

Otherwise it's not bad, not great, pretty fluffy, could use less ground time, definately less time space screwing and in strip clubs, and more space time. Why not just crank up Sprach Zarathustra and get it over with?

Ah, but keep in mind that you’re a very discerning space connoisseur and this is Hollywood.
Should Brain Sturgeon itemize scene by scene the b.s. in Grey’s Anatomy or House and burst everyone’s bubble. Me thinks that he easily could.

Not to mention the fact that if there are any members of this forum who work in crime labs or better yet, are members of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors, I’m sure they would have volumes to say about any of the C.S.I. shows currently on the tele.

Seems to me they could have staged the premise as an undersea exploration and then maybe not have had to fudge the science so much.

It's still a crappy 30-something housewife trap of a show, fixing the technical innacuracies won't save it

See, but instead of just complaining, I offered easily solutions that would cost zero to implement and plug those holes. They actually went to more trouble to come up with the nanofibers bs than just saying "centrifuge" and be done with it.

Pretty sure their science advisor told them the same things At least on Armageddon, Criterion gave them their own commentary to tear it to pieces

If you want a really great science commentary, Brian Cox's on Sunshine is unbelieveably fantastic. That movie (And SOny's Moon) are pretty hardcore, and do things for the most part right

I'm certainly looking forward to seeing it. It's running 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, right behind Ponyo's 100% with a similar number of views

I hope everyone sees both this weekend. Hunt out your local arthouse and see Ponyo subtitled the way it's meant to be as well

Last time I got to see Miyazaki subbed in a theater, I had to travel all the way to San Francisco to do it.

Believe me, I'm trying! My local arthouse has a dubbed print.

So, gee... I'll just cruise over to the Disney site or the Ponyo site and find out where the nearest subtitled print is showing, right?

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. That would mean they were actually reading my emails from last time.

The internet has opened up so many opportunities for these companies to expand their returns by making absolutely miniscule 'give-a-crap-about-the-customer's-experience'-type expenditures, but they still just can't figure it out.
