And as for ISHTAR, it's awesome. A classic example of a film people are supposed to hate (as opposed to the shite that is AVATAR, a film that many feel obliged to love)

"Ishtar...? Avatar.... Avatar...? Ishtar." - David Letterman, alternate reality Oscar Telecast.

And where the hell have you been?

Dude, recently I literally pass out while riding my bike during a mountain bike ride and break my beautiful nose in four places, subsequently fellow riders call 911 and the firefighters 4-wheel it into the National Forest to get me out to the paramedics to take me to the E.R., where they and I discover that I’m suffering from atrial fibrillation (think too much exercise for too many years can be BAD for you <- isn't that just ironic to the nth degree? ) and then they proceed to cardiovert me and I’m still here actively posting even with a poorly controlled cardiac arrhythmia. Next step will eventually most likely be a 6 hr. heart ablation procedure at Cedars.

So, what’s your excuse?
Ouch...Penton, get well man! Sorry to hear about your ordeal.

Well, I won’t be beating anymore 20 year-olds up steep hills on a mountain bike for quite awhile I think....like I used to. Plus, the guys in the white coats say no caffeine, and no alcohol and even IF the meds work (which is no guarantee), one is obliged to take them for the rest of one’s life……current cost $9.00/DAY….at least until I meet my deductible.

I think I can get over the sacrifice of caffeine and alcohol with time but, if they tell me next that I can’t watch ‘Miku’ shake her booty anymore ….
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTXO7...layer_embedded

because it would be bad for my heart and throw me into a-fib, then I’m really, really going to be a sad cowboy. As THAT would be far too great a sacrifice to endure.

Clever

I of course meant this:

And if you were going to swing Duluths, why not pick on Dylan's hometown?

It’s the only ‘Duluth’ I’ve been to (i.e. in Georgia).

Plus, I’ve now got a bone to pick with that Dylan fellow, as he can take this song and……….sing it to my ticker, as if that will do any good…..

Will the guy that PM’ed me to “Help Save Josh Zyber on AVS”, please include the respective link on that forum for where I am requested to *contribute*, as that would be helpful.

Respectfully, then I’ll consider it after seeing what I potentially could be getting myself into over there.

They charge you for take-out ketchup there?

thanks, but I did not take it in a negative way. In my opinion and experience Montreal is one of a kind so I can understand why he would compare it to an other planet. Now if you have a Montrealer mentality and endurance (like myself) then it makes it hard to move away, on the other hand that also means that if you don't it can appear real alien.

that is just because you are from Toronto and not used to snow or cold, come in the worst days of Jan/Feb when it is all ice and around -30 and you can still find some hot girl in a miniskirt waiting in line outside. Plus , no offence to people in warm climate) but I think that because of winter we enjoy the summer months more.

wrong language. Ketchup for the rest of the world is that sweet red tomato sauce you buy at the supermarket and squirts out of a bottle. Ketchup in Quebec could also be something that resembles more of a tangy tomato based relish (usually with chunks of other stuff)

that is why they have a maple Ketchup and a corn Ketchup.

And your link is more like catering for the holidays not the restaurant menu, it says they take orders between mid Nov to mid Dec with pick up in the month of Dec. It is a traditional part of a French Canadian Christmas meal to have Tourtiere (meet pie) with a spoon full of Ketchup (which is why the Ketchup is sold by the jar and not individual amounts)

...what in English would be called "Relish", and not exclusively that green crap people put on hotdogs.

You're deflecting, Penton, from the fact that it's worth flying to Montreal to eat there. Can't say it'll be good for heart health, but the Bison Tartare is worth the price of airfare.

And yes, cher Anthony, I've seen many a girl traipsing the streets of Montreal in the miniskirts, tempting, um, "chapped lips" in the winter bluster.

Since we're planning your vacation, Penton, you should also visit the NFB, and there are some mighty fine theatres and cinephilic wonders and cafes to tempt you from your warm clime.

Then you can swing down to Toronto and get that beer I promised you.

Thanks for the sentiment.

I guess you learn something new every day on this thread.
Tell me, have you heard any buzz around town about the upcoming 3D hockey broadcasts….http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/stor...#ixzz15kTRsLl1

And, will you have access to watch any of them on a consumer type display (at your home or, for that matter, any other venue) to report to us on how the broadcasts look?

P.S. Shark, any buzz in Toronto about the first broadcast?
