Just went to my local Target. No 4Ks to be seen.

Just a mostly empty display with only a few copies left of the regular BD.

I'm at my local Target and while they didn't have any 4Ks out yet, they do have a lot of the regular

LOL @ 4K release! What a wtf moment.

I haven't opened my copy yet, but I think that was a pretty shitty businesses move they pulled. Whether it was last minute, whether it was Target or Netflix, releasing a 4K after releasing the blu-ray with no heads up announcement is pretty bad.

I know Netflix need to keep subscribers, but it's a pretty low move, especially those who wanted this show in 4K/UHD.

Release dates have been bandied about: 11/28 or 12/5. The guy who clued us in stopped by a store that broke release date.

Ok I thought so. I thought that's what the ad that was posted said; that this was $10 on BF.

I did ask here at Target about 15 minutes ago and an employee confirmed the 28th as the release date.

The 4k version will be worth it. This was finished in 4k from 6k cameras.

I'll gladly pay $30 for it, which is what the system was ringing it up as at the store that put the 4k stock out too soon.

If anyone can find 2 copies of the 4K version and can help out a Canadian member, it would be greatly appreciated. The Target international site recently stopped shipping movies to Canada.

For anyone not following the 4K thread - I got two more copies and just shipped them express to two members with 4K setups. So we’ll have a couple reports on the quality by Tuesday night!

I have to agree. I don't have a 4K player, so it's moot to me, but if I did, and they announced this only a few weeks after the regular Blu release, I would be all like

The 4k set has 1080p discs included. Why not be ready for the transition?

Oh, and they didn't announce anything, just like the regular set. It was like BAM! out of the blue.

Horribly shoddy marketing.

I've gone through VHS, laserdisc, DVD and Blus...not re-buying my collection AGAIN until I can get 4K discs for $5.00 a pop (and only for ones that are a sizable improvement over the Blus). Plus, I doubt I can ever afford a TV large enough to make it worthwhile to own one.

$5 a pop? That will take a loooooooooooooooong time. However, some are going for $10 and $15 this Black Friday. The sets come with regular Blu's. It's a no brainer.
