I mentioned this to my wife and she asked why would I buy it since we have Netflix streaming and I said, "I'm not prepared to commit to subscribing to Netflix for the rest of my life and who even knows how long Netflix will be around." She replied, "Makes sense."

Was just gonna mention this. Also, to the person that mentioned Daredevil and Jessica Jones, the Netflix Marvel shows are owned by Disney, Netflix just has exclusive streaming rights.

I enjoy having my favorite movies available to stream just as much as the next guy, but sometimes, our internet goes out if there's a car accident nearby, bad weather, etc... and then you can't watch ANYTHING if you are depending on that for your collection.

Nothing beats having the actual physical media ON HAND and not having to depend on online possibilities that can wreck havoc on your viewing choices.

PLUS.... Quality of blurays are so much better than streaming.

Totally. My internet/cable went out for some reason within the past couple weeks at like 1 am when I was awake and bored watching TV. So I popped my The Social Network Blu-ray in my PS3 and watched extras. It's the first time I've experienced it while living at my current address for over a year, and it was probably an hour and a half tops, but still. Physical media is handy entertainment in such situations.

Agree with the last part too, way better during darker scenes.

Not everyone has a definitive answer/explanation for why these decisions are made. I understand where your anger is coming from. I'd be pissed too if a title was exclusively released outside of my country.

Thanks for understanding. Yeah its really frustating. This show is probably one of my favorite shows ever and then a release happens and it gets almost impossible to get it. That really sucks. I do think though it would be strange as hell if it does not get a retail release after Target does not have exclusive rights anymore and that the show never gets a release in overseas countries. If that never happens that would be very odd.

Lets see

It's not listed publicly at the moment. It's already in Target's internal system though so it should go live pretty soon.

It's not on the US site either as of this writing. Being an exclusive it will probably show up on or right before release date.

Target may be getting ready to do an ad campaign, advertising their exclusive merch and the release of season 2 on Netflix. Might be why we haven't heard anything official yet.

Something weird on the backcover it says “Not authorized for sale outside of USA” in left corner. The gut punches for international fans just keep on coming. Can target even ship these overseas with a message like this on backcover

Be patient man...there is not a lot of official information out there yet but I guarantee you that there will be before Oct. 17th.

Acting like Netflix and Target are just out to screw you over personally is just getting pretty annoying.

I am sure it will not be exclusive forever and I am sure we will find out how long with an official press release before Oct 17th.

Just be happy that it is getting a release which means the chances of an international release are better than they were 48 hours when there was no talk of a release anywhere.

Paramount and Warner DVDs and Blu-raya have the same disclaimer. I have a number of Hong Kong imports that state For Sale In Hong Kong and Macau Only along with Thai imports that are labeled for Thai Home Viewing Only.

For those outside the US/Canada:, calm down, if you can't get it from Target's international service then Bluraysforeveryone.com is still an option. Even then, this is a big enough hit that I'm sure releases will also happen in the UK and Europe.

THANK YOU! I for the life of me couldn't remember the name of that site. Bookmarked it this time.

You have to have like 5 VHS tapes to fit the entire season.
