I can watch this any time on Netflix, so the novel and totally appropriate packaging is a big factor in my buying this.

Netflix should throw in "movie cash" for Season two. By which I mean, a code good for a month of Netflix

How about, hopefully, better picture and audio quality? Those should be reasons enough to get the discs.

Netflix and Amazon squeeze far too much out of the masters sent their way.

During Stranger Things Season 2's run and for their "4k" service or just their basic tier?

Netflix has it in 4K in HDR, looks amazing. That’s why I was hoping for a UHD release. I’m sure it will look better than the HD streaming though.

When I had their 4k streaming service (free for a year with the purchase of my last 4k TV) and before I dropped it due to 4k discs getting released, there were numerous compression issues like heavy banding and mosquito noise that were apparent.

Their 4k streams average at about 16 Mbps which is far and away too low besides the lossy, dynamically compressed audio (Netflix "normalizes" all their audio tracks).

Yes, I do agree that a UHD Blu-ray set would have been preferred. Though, unfortunately, I'm afraid we're lucky that we got what we got.

Yeah I will most likely buy it anyway, that packaging is too sweet.

Love the show, dig the packaging, this is mine.

Can't wait for season 2.

If that never happens that would be very odd.

Lets see
I think this is what you are looking for.

If they didn't include DVDs it wouldn't be bulky enough to make it look like a VHS... which I kind of think is dumb. I get the theory of it but not everything should be looked back on with amazement just because it's old... Plus if they include DVDs, they can charge more.

I'm dead broke right now and even if I had the money, I'm having car troubles so I couldn't get to Target anyway lol

This is great news, if anything just to see Netflix release any of their owned content physically. Really hope Death Note and The Babysitter get BD releases too.

$24 is hardly taking advantage of consumers. That's the cheapest Blu-Ray TV show, especially for a major Netflix hit. I say they're undercharging.

Plus, DVDs are still the highest bought home media, and they include it so more people can buy the exclusive over the Blu-Ray standard (which is usually cheaper). Those who want the DVD get it, those who want Blu-Ray get it, win win.

Those soundtrack LPs look awesome, but I don't think I want to drop $80 on some records I'll never listen to all the way through.

I just hope that Target doesn't drop the ball with supply and demand. I hope a preorder is up soon. I might just play it safe and order online for this one.

I admit I didn't read through all 12 pages, but is that how much it's going to cost, and is there even going to be a standard BD set? If it's $24 then no it's not taking advantage, but if it was just BD it would still be cheaper than BD+DVD. Extra is still extra

I doubt that this will be limited. Target should know this will make huge $$$. There should be plenty for all.

Now this is really shocking. Surprised that this info has come out so close to the release date, but whatever! As long as it's coming out, I'm cool.

I am however, not really pleased with the packaging, but whatever. I'll take it!
