$25 for 8 episodes really isn't that great. If this was a wide release it would probably be $10 on Black Friday. $25 isn't outrageous, I'll probably pick it up at that price because of the packaging, but any more would be too much

We can all hope, but I think that Netflix is releasing this because of the fanbase, but also the bootlegs that have been showing up in other countries. Some of these things are REALLY impressive and I think that Netflix saw these and thought "They are taking money that is rightfully ours. What can we do?" And we have this beautiful thing. The only thing that I wish that Netflix did was throw some special features on the discs. Other than that I think this is going to be a very solid release.

I guess call me crazy, but I think $25 for a season of tv, and in pretty fun packaging that probably isn’t cheap to produce, is a steal! I would’ve been happy at $35, but possible $25, I’m ecstatic!

Dude, it's hardly something I was going to Columbo, just scanned through the thread and: no press release, three pictures and a story from someone on Reddit (who I definitely was not about to start cross referencing past posts on because.. it's just a blu-ray release? Not that pressing of an issue.) When that's all I have to go off of, my gut, all of two minute's thought given reaction is that it might not be legit? I really don't see what's so outrageous about that. Once people started chiming in that they'd spoken to Target employees etc. then of course it becomes more clear.

I've seen some wonderful fan creations just like this, there's a guy who does incredible VHS style packaging for the new Star Wars films that look just like the real deal too. Just takes me aback a little that not believing it until it was made more official (as I love the idea and would quite like to get it) is met with such derision!

Yes, and they wrote "Not authorized for sale outside of the USA" so I guess there will be a different distributor in other countries;

I'd be shocked if season 7 of Game of Thrones would be $25 on release week, and that's only 7 episodes. $24.99 is perfectly fine for this. Wonder if you'd have the same complaint if GoT ends up being >$30.
