I understand the reasoning. But when those FAQs stay the exact same with 'no info available', people are going to wonder if the OP is up to date and ask the same questions regardless. So I don't think it'd cut down on that significantly. I wasn't trying to be rude. I just found it, and still find it, humorous to have a FAQ section with no questions answered.

Without a long-form Blu-ray certificate the verdict is still out on its authenticity.

Netflix can walk and chew gum at the same time. It's called multiple revenue streams. There are many potential customers here and in other countries that choose not to subscribe to streaming services for one reason or the other and irrespective of what exclusive content might be offered. The given service may not be available to them. The service may be available, but they can't afford it. They might be able to afford it, but have lousy Internet. They might have great Internet, but have limited data usage and expensive overage fees. They might be able to afford it, have great Internet, unlimited data, but not be able to spend enough time each month streaming to make it worth it. And here's a crazy one, the person might just prefer to spend what little time they do have in front of the TV watching a Blu-ray that they actually own which delivers a far better audio/video experience with no strings attached. I could go on.

So tell me. How does it make perfect sense to ignore all those potential customers? Heck, Netflix would be ignoring their streaming customers as well. Why settle for just the subscription revenue? I have no doubt there will be many who purchase this who also pay for streaming. Netflix knows better than anyone that people still value physical media. They need look no further than their own customer base. There are many who only subscribe to their disc rental service and I dare say are some of their most loyal customers. If Netflix didn't want anyone buying this TV show on physical media they wouldn't be making it available on physical media at all. Sure, this release is a great way to promote Season 2. At the same time, it's also a great way to encourage customers to hold out for Season 2 on Blu-ray rather than pay to stream it. As for a wide release, again, what sense does it make to not tap into that potential revenue. Furthermore, once the official DVD's and Blu-ray's are out there in the wild it's precisely in the best interest of Netflix to take steps for an eventual wide release. Oh, that's right. Far better once Target runs out of stock to let the black market step in and have free reign.
I’m not disagreeing with you, as I’m a physical media fan...but the bottom line is streaming revenue is growing very fast and physical sales are waning. Obviously I don’t have access the books, but just observing how the home video market has changed, so much, in just the last decade is eye opening. I’m hoping that 4k gives physical media a much needed shot in the arm.
Outside of big studio tentpole films, I’m guessing most studios take a loss on the bulk of their releases. Which has given rise to all the boutique labels that have moved in to keep the releases coming. But it seems like an uphill battle against streaming. The costs associated with the two must be very lopsided in favor of streaming. An example, look at the new Star Trek show. CBS aired the first episode and all the rest are only available on their pay service.
For a long time, TV on BD has been very tough. If your name isn’t TWD or GoT, it could be a coin flip for your show’s BD release...with decreasing odds going forward for subsequent seasons on BD.
Again, I agree with what you say. Like myself, you’re a fan...but the scary reality is TV on BD is a slippery slope, and I’m guessing will only get worse as more folks watch all their favorite shows at the press of button instead of inserting a disc.

Lol....people actually believe this to not be real?

What do they think this is, some elaborately cruel prank from Target and Netflix towards their fans?

I think the real release is going to be a VHS tape inside a giant blu ray box. It will be a wide release and available everywhere except target stores.

Some of my early requests for a potential S2 release:

1) For the love of God, release at the closest store to mredman!
2) Please be world wide
3) Online preorders everywhere
4) Advertise it during the Super Bowl, Olympics and World Cup
5) Provide detailed pics of the packaging to include vid clips

If the earth were round, don't you think the cats would have pushed everything over the edge by now?

Are those themed cups actually glass tumblers, or plastic?

I might pick up a set of the glasses if the price is good...dropped one of mine in the kitchen recently, so it'd be nice to have a matching set of four again.
