I guess I'm going to need to take that 80-minute trip to Target on Tuesday. Never driven there myself before, but it looks pretty straightforward. I just feel a little crazy for it, but I really want this release.
At least there's a Best Buy next to it, I haven't been to one of those in years. I hate not having these stores nearby, yet we have two Walmarts within 10 minutes apart from each other.

Too bad that compilation soundtrack doesn't come out on the same day, it sounds fun.

How limited do you think this will be?

Stores seem to be getting 50+ copies. So shouldn’t be too hard to grab on release day.

I need this in my collection. I hope I can get one release day before the scalpers arrive.

Are blu-rays in 2017 really a scalper driven market? Doesn't seem to be, I wouldn't worry about it.

Someone's already presold 50 of them on eBay for $43 each.

Nintendo and Funko are, why should blu-rays be excluded from the fun?

If those are for folks that don’t have a Target store nearby, or for international customers, then it’s not that bad of a deal.

I wouldn't mind grabbing a couple extra copies of this (for anyone who doesn't think they'll be able to easily get their hands on one).
Just cover shipping, paypal fees etc, and it's all yours.

Shoot me a PM if interested.

No, I have nothing against the guy. I just got sick of hearing his name because when Planet Earth was released on DVD and BD many years ago we had customers screaming at us because Sigourney Weaver wasn't narrating it as if that was our fault. I've never seen the damn thing, so I have no idea what they were talking about, but the box clearly had Attenborough's name on it. How we were supposed to inform these jackasses that I have no idea.

I look at it this way, if a company wants me to get invested in their TV show, it needs to come out on BD or I might not bother. I simply see no reason to invest myself in something I can not physically own and watch again on MY terms. There is a reason I was recording all of my favorite series off TV while growing up in the 90s. They were never releasing them on video and if they were, it was like 3-4 random episodes and that was it. Or in the case of Power Rangers, they were selling 1 episode a tape for $25 a piece, including the Green with Evil 5 parter that cost over $100 to own all five parts.

Which is crazy because what is he going to do if he can't get 50? I think the target ad even said limit 5. My target is NOTORIOUS for people going in and before noon on Tuesday buying every copy of any exclusive.

That's really sad. I do not accept any excuse that people who do that are somehow being helpful by making it available for others. If you buy a few copies for friends or forum members, that seems reasonable. I offered to buy 4 extra copies per the apparent 5-copy limit for international forum members. But if you're selling dozens on eBay at any markup... you're profiting, and you're taking away from the customers who walked into the store and wanted to buy it at the retail price but now they can't because someone else is making a profit off it and bought them all. People who do that - it's their right to do that. But I strongly feel that it isn't right. And it's just part of why I disagree with the idea of exclusives in the first place. We've gone from awesome 2-disc special editions being a standard thing to single disc releases with possible bonus features being parcelled out to different physical or digital retailers. It's really sad. I could make a ton more points and rant about this all day, so I'll stop now before I really get going.

That's kind of their own fault for not researching it... The general release by BBC America kept him since he did the BBC version, the Discovery Channel version narrated by Sigourney Weaver was only sold on their store as far as I know.

I guess I'll go to my Target around 9 or 10, so hopefully I can get one before a lot of people potentially buy a bunch.

Is there any reason this wouldn't be released in a standard case overseas like House of Cards or Orange is the New Black?
