Standards change over time, though. It's not a matter of being spoiled as much as it is seeing something that's out of the ordinary and knowing that it's not normal.

UK videos I have seen were in clamshells as well.

My local Target stock person said they have them listed in stock on their computer, but they can't find them in the back.

You are right! I lived in Germany back in the early 80’s.
Sure wish I kept some of that vhs/beta collection!

Oh, agreed, 100%. I'm just saying...stating that $25 is "not a good deal" just simply isn't accurate for this much content. If it's not something someone WANTS to buy, that's another matter altogether. But overpriced it is not. Again, IMHO.

I got my order in for delivery on Thursday! I don't do streaming (other than WWE Network) so I'm looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about with this show.

Now as a history buff I really wish we could get a home media release for The Man in the High Castle I really want to see that.

If this were a standard release (without all the silly bells and whistles that come with it), I'd be inclined to disagree with you, but this does seem to be more geared toward mega-fans of the show and are already invested in the story.
Considering how TV shows are usually sold, expecting $25 for eight 45 minute episodes from a possible newcomer is a bit weird, but this clearly isn't meant for newcomers (which is why I really wish there was a "normal" release just in a simple Blu-Ray case with just the two discs), it's a bit more reasonable.

Nikita The Final Season is six episodes for $19.

Game of Thrones Season Seven is seven episodes for $40+.

You are getting fancy packaging, a poster, and eight episodes for $25.

Even by today's standards, I'm not sure I agree. Day one movies are typically $15-$20 on blu-ray. For a single disc. With about a quarter of the content.

On the other hand, I'm with you in wishing there was a standard release. I'd rather have a standard case on my shelf than this...even though it's cool to look at on its own, it will be on a shelf by itself and not in with the rest of my movies for sure.

EDIT: Ooh, you know...it's ONLY two discs, I really just need to make a custom case for this myself...

I don't think it's a bad price at all. I ordered mine this morning. Can't wait for it to come in. One of the best shows that's come on Netflix

Also, people complaining about the size of the packaging must have never seen an older VHS or any adult videos, because the latter especially often came in huge boxes.
You would be correct, these are Region A locked. Just tried it on my Region B player and I got Region A logo along with a description that the region code does not match. Funny because the mockup photos shows ABC on the discs.

Region A locked guys. It explains why there is ONLY English subtitles. Had it been Region Free we would have had multiple language tracks.

The Target I went to today (about three hours after they opened) had seven copies out. No idea if there's more in the stock room, but I'm glad I got there when I did.

The package is really nice. I'm not into slipcovers and steelbooks, for the most part, but this VHS thing was too cute to pass up for me.

Is anyone else having trouble with their Target box set? The blurays show a soundless black screen and stay there but the dvds work fine. Did I get bad discs? (It sounds like each Target got 100 copies, there were a ton of them when I went around 10:00 central today)

People are actually complaining about the price!? Haha wow. $24.99 for a collector's edition of a TV show with cool packaging and a poster is pretty much a steal.

I purchased a rental copy of Ladyhawke back in the day on Beta. Talk about large packaging! :-P
