Reatailers could eliminate some of this foolishness by implementing a 2 per person limit on exclusives. It would at least make it a bit harder for the scalpers.

I don't see how that could be enforced. You could just buy 2, then come back and buy 2 at a different line, or even the same line since the cashier probably won't notice or care. Online, such limits are more plausible, but even still, there are ways that scalpers circumvent this.

actually no, my Crystal Target didn't have any merch. In fact, they had taken down the entire movies and comics merch section and were in the process of redoing all of the pegs and shelves this morning. |

Things I know:
I’ve never experienced macro-blocking from a Blu-Ray/my media server. I’ve never had a problem viewing content when my ISP went down. I’ve never had an issue viewing Blu-Ray/ My media server content when a license period expired for Netflix. Viewing content at 1080 vs. 4K is practically indiscernible at the distance I sit from my 65” VT50. I like uncompressed audio roaring through my Klipsch speakers. I stream for convenience but buy for quality. Stranger Things is the best thing I’ve seen this year. Last edited by Lastchancerecords; 10-17-2017 at 06:06 PM. |

My store had about 12 copies on the shelf, probably have more in the back to put out when they need them.
I appreciate the idea but I like it even less in person than I thought, it's so bulky just for the sake of it and longer than a VHS tape is so it's not like they're doing it so huge to be realistic. I'm glad they don't have these in cardboard slots, but these rubber things are dumb. I moved my BD discs to the 'top' one on each part so I don't have to take disc 1 out to put disc 2 back... and it's not like these junk DVDs will ever be used. I got it though, who knows if a normal release will happen, seems like they should have released them at the same time if they were planning on doing a normal one too. I'd have rather them had it in a BD case like Criterion or hell, even a DVD case, so the artwork would fill the whole case... and had a slipcover that looks like the outer box with the VHS logo and stuff and then have the wraparound artwork for the amaray be the actual VHS. |

and I couldn't find anything! I'd think they would sit up a section of nothing but stranger things items. |

Discs are wider than a real VHS tape, so to keep the correct proportions of a VHS tape once they decided on the design idea, they had to make the package large enough to hold the discs. Since the discs overlap and since the discs just barely fit width-wise, they made the package only as large as it had to be in order to have a proportionally-correct VHS design that the discs would fit into.

![]() (Incidentally, being oversized means it has to go on the prominent top shelf of a display rack, because it probably doesn't fit on the lower regular Blu-ray case-sized shelves!) I've always liked good collector's editions and while of course I can always think of improvements (for example, I don't really have much interest in posters, especially random artwork ones instead of the main "poster" image, and especially folded ones), I'm very happy with the package overall. I really do love the outer "VHS" sleeve. I can of course understand people wanting a normal-sized case. It's definitely reasonably priced - you're not really paying a premium for the cool packaging and the poster - so anyone who doesn't like it can just put it into a regular case and throw away the packaging, and the rest of us can enjoy it ![]() |

That's what I thought. I still have a late model VCR in which you can "skip" forward a predetermined time frame that allows you to circumvent "previews" to an extent. That was a fancy feature at the time. |
