What's the difference between this new release of the OG film Vs the current 4K that's available? (Not interested in GB2 or AL)

May drop the exclusive extras discs but the movies will likely get stand alone rereleases.

I really hope they opt for steelbooks rather than cardboard cases but the latter is the most likely outcome. Also better have digital codes.

I’m extremely happy about this release but one downside to this it hasn’t nothing to do with this series it has to do with how sony treated another not as liked sequel Karate kid 3 it gets no bonus features even though deleted scenes exist for 3 and no release for the final pat Morita film in the series next karate kid.

I…cannot believe the amount of extras they’ve included. And 3 alternate cuts of the films?

Good god.

It’s like a Shout Factory special edition but you know the encoding will be good.

Already a contender for one of the best releases of 2022.

I haven't seen it either. One reason why the digital code was added might be this:

I'm not a Ghostbusters fan (I don't dislike it or anything, I just haven't seen it since I was a little kid), but dayum, Sony are really going above and beyond with the extras on this set. I wish all films received this treatment. Although LMFAO at them providing the 2016 film as a digital download at the last minute.

The very first thing I sold on Ebay many years ago was a pristine copy of Making Ghostbusters. Think I sold it then for about $100. Maybe more.

I am beyond excited for those…really hoping for the possessed Ray driving the Ecto and the Liberty island celebration to be in there…don’t wanna get my hopes too high in the event something doesn’t make the cut.

I wonder what quality they are in though I was hoping they would be able to get remastered to uhd quality and have Dolby vision but being on a separate blu ray disc makes me wonder if they aren’t in great condition.

So I just want to confirm.... there's no reason to hold onto the STEELBOOK edition for first 2 films now, correct?

Right?

It’s as if it’s only there in spirit. Lol.

I really doubt any release tops this for 2022 in terms of quality of presentation, extras, and packaging. I mean, it's in a fooking ghost trap!

The deleted scenes that they initially released weren’t in too bad condition, but I guess we shall see. Unless they recently found them im sure there was a reason they decided not to include them the last few releases.

Wow, that looks like an absolute treasure-trove for fans! Hoping it comes down in price from £150 though.
