Has anyone's pre-order from Barnes and Noble ship yet? Mine's still stuck at preparing for shipment for the past day or so after charging my card.

There's a reddit thread about the set showing up with two UHD copies of GB instead of one of each. My first thought was "I wonder if there are copies with two UHD discs of GBII"?

Unfortunate to see this type of factory mishap with this set.

Mine showed up in a white bag from Amazon… surprisingly with no damage. But who in their right mind looks at this set and says " yep, a bag will do "

Like most here that ordered from Amazon, mine came in crappy thin bag too. Luckly there's no damage from what I can see. Time to watch this collection!

Mine arrived. And for crying out loud- really? The flimsy box/case is much bigger than it needs to be. This will not even fit on my standard shelf.
Keeping it sealed for now and If reviews claim it’s no better than previous 4k. I might just return it.

You guys dig this packaging?

I mean it's got standard cases with slips inside... you could always chuck the box if you really wanted to. I'm more in for the supplements/alternative cuts than anything else.

Mine as well got delivered in those white bags with no padding as well. Corners are dinged up a bit. Calling Amazon because of their packaging facilities incompetency. Yet, another item that arrived today via Amazon came in a box.

I am also one of the Amazon White Bag victims. A few minor cosmetic scuffs to the plastic slipcover, but contents seem OK. Relieved that the inner light thing is simple and functional - sometimes, these gimmicks work better in concept than in execution (I’m looking at you, Close Encounters 4K set), but this one is just a timed light sensor - expose the sensor, light comes on, put discs back, light goes off. I was worried it would be more complicated (and prone to fail).

Around the 5:10 mark. All indications were 1 & 2 were getting a Dolby release under a "Deluxe Edition." No mention of Afterlife because it hadn't been released in theaters yet.

I believe they had planned This Ultimate Edition for the hardcore collectors, hence the limited run and they were going to have that AND the 1 & 2 deluxe for the double dippers and Afterlife single for the non doubles that were ok with the HDR10 discs.

Then Afterlife didn't make enough at the box office and they cancelled. Clearly they didn't think the Ghostbusters 1 & 2 Dolby would sell or they would have released them. I can't see Sony going through the trouble of setting up Dolby Vision discs and then making them limited run. And as I pointed out several pages back, there is no vanilla Dolby release anywhere on the horizon for people that don't care about the light up box.

Karate Kid collection not limited run. Labyrinth not limited. You are telling me those 2 franchises are more popular than Ghostbusters? Even the blu-ray 3 movie collection cover looks rushed. They couldn't have drawn a ghost holding 3 fingers up?

Amazon finally delivered mine. It was in a large yellow padded envelope in mint condition. The booklet looks cool to read, but I wish the print was a little bigger so I wouldn’t have to put my glasses on. Overall nice set. The first film is two years away from it’s 40th anniversary, time sure flys by fast

Where did you get the “4000 copies” from? 4K refers to, uh, the 4K…

Mine too! The box was perfectly sized for the set - I didn't feel a thing moving around when I gave it a little shake. I thought that meant the set would be nested in some air cushions, but there was actually no packaging in there. Thankfully, the set looks perfect! Lights work and all discs and slipcovers are present and accounted for, too.

Mine has finally arrived from Amazon today.

I'm very annoyed that instead of shipping it in a box, they practically just threw the thing inside an oversized bag and called it a day.

Overall, besides a minor tear on the ghost trap package itself (nothing that a black sharpie and tape won't fix), the collection still arrived in excellent condition.
