Most likely Best Buy since its been released early followed by Amazon. Surprised if any got theirs from Target yet.

Canadian here... I was lucky enough to order the Ultimate Version last night off of Amazon.ca. Like Amazon.com, it was sold out as well, so I was surprised to see it back available for order last night. Hearing that Sony has no plans to do a second run, I'm pretty lucky I was able to grab a copy while I still could, and mine should be arriving sometime next week. It looks as if they're still available, if people are still looking for one, and if Amazon Canada ships to you.

I've been hearing a lot of complaints about the poor packaging, and how the set is overpriced for what you're getting. Is it though? If you factor in the cost of each movie at $30 each, that's $90 right there. The original 'Making Ghostbusters' book has been out-of-print and difficult to find for years now, and sells anywhere between $100 and $200 on eBay and collector cons. I know I've been looking for a copy for a long time but could never find one at a more reasonable price, or in better condition. I'm for one happy we're getting the re-print so I can finally read it.

And above everything else, the special bonus features, most especially the two different alternative cuts of the first film, the Preview Cut and the Television Broadcast Cut. While this certainly isn't up to the Blade Runner 5-disc Ultimate Collection standards, I'm pretty excited to see two different versions of the film. So between the three films, the two alternate cuts of the film, and the making of reprint, a $120 to $150 price isn't really that off. No doubt a tad bit expensive for most, but I think if you really love Ghostbusters and want those extras, one can't really go wrong, or am I alone in this thinking?

Mine just arrived from Amazon US.

Damaged of course… I’ll be calling for credit. Can’t be replaced, and they put it in a sealed bag. Dumb

My set also got delivered in the white plastic bag from Amazon. Some light damage to a corner and the inside black wall was creased from an apparent squeeze. Amazon refunded $35 of the $106 I paid for it. It is what it is. Not going to wait on replacement stock.

You are not alone, sir. I think the price I've paid for the US set is more than fair for DV remastered editions of I & II with OG audio plus some amazing new extras plus the book reprint - hell, it's even got the new movie in there too! Though I'd be less inclined to be so forgiving towards the UK/Euro version of the set which has no slips, no digital codes, no light up box (I don't care about the box but hey, some people seem to be really miffed about it) and costs literally double what I ordered the US set for.

I can deal with light nicks(maor damage would tick me off more) but I'm more worried about missing disks. Two 4K disks for a movie would be no good for me since I can't play 4K.I need the Blu Ray disks.A missing slipcover would probably bother me more too than very light damage to the packaging.
For me… there are two tears on the bottom of the doors of the trap. One on each door. They might be able to be repaired… with glue and/tape.

Amazon will compensate

All the correct discs… just slight tears in the trap case.

The box definitely looks cheap and not well thought out, but based on all the posts I've been reading, seems like Amazon hasn't helped the situation by shipping them in plastic bags. It'll be interesting to see how Amazon Canada ships mine next week, box or bag. Granted had Sony put a little more effort and better quality into the box, maybe it would be less damaged. I certainly don't want a damaged box on my shelf and in my collection, not for the price I paid. But what are you gonna do.

Amazon is ludicrously inconsistent. I ordered a couple random blu-rays the other day - just standard cases, nothing fancy. They arrived together today in a box! With padding! For two standard blu-ray cases. And the driver actually called me and said he was downstairs and asked if it's okay to just leave the package or if I'd like it left anywhere special! I thought for a minute I was dreaming as none of that sounded at all believable. Of course the cases were intact since they were shipped in a box so I had no need to contact Amazon for returns this time (no scratched discs either - maybe it was just a dream).

Yet they ship expensive box sets like this and others in bags. Once last year they shipped a $150 box set to me in a bag ,and it arrived crunched. I must have talked to just the right person that day over the phone because I was fully prepared to send it back, yet they refunded the full cost and told me to keep it anyways. How was that cheaper for them than sending it in a box and then I wouldn't have had to call them about the damage?

They clearly have absolutely no shipping policies whatsoever. They can't possibly. I'm convinced they just grab whatever they feel like and throw it in - bag, box, envelope, whatever.

Best Buy shipped in a box with no padding. Small tear on the bottom of one off the doors of the ghost trap. I can probably fix it, but still annoying. Seems everyone is getting cheap with packaging. I ordered a graphic novel from B&N a few weeks ago and it came in a bubble mailer and was kinda bent in a few spots.

Received my package from Amazon today. Shipped in a cardboard box at least, however no padding/air mailers inside so the outer box still got pretty dinged up. Have some tears on the upper/lower right hand side trap door, and a dent in the back top corner. At least the discs all appear to be correct. The noveltly of the ghost trap is pretty neat. I like the little green light LED effect. At least the 'meat & potatoes' of the set seems to have come unharmed.

Shame about the damage, and would've been nice had it been a sturdier plastic outer box, but I could only imagine the final cost that would bring. Really looking forward to spinning these discs soon, since I've been a lifelong fan of GB/GB2 & have yet to see Afterlife. Also, with the plethora of deleted scenes/preview cuts as well as the mini reproduction of the making of Ghostbusters book, I am one happy camper!

Got mine from Amazon.ca in a nice box today in perfect condition. Luckily locked in the $99 pre order price as well.
I really have to applaud Sony here who continues to be delivering 4K discs in top form giving fans what we really want. Dolby vision, fantastic compression, atmos, lossless OG audio, legacy and new special features, original and new artwork. In the streaming age we live in it’s really great to see a major studio like Sony going out of their way to deliver movies in this way. Bravo
