Are you comparing the new 4k release to the previous Mastered in 4K blu-ray, or the original blu-ray?

Can you include a link to Ghostbusters on amazon.co.uk please as i can't find it on there.

I think it's this one, but I'd hold of until they put more details up, it's release date does match up with the UK UHD release.

Compared to the mastered in 4k release. The difference to me is night and day and I didn't think there would be much in it beforehand. Trust me everyone is going to love this release

It was $22.96 on Wal-Mart's site last time I checked. So is the sequel.

Is anyone going to post any pictures? Front of box, back of box, inside box, disc image and any slipcovers or do an unboxing video?

But is it authentic to its original look?

This is really hard to believe, especially since it's only available for store pick-up and the street date isn't until Tuesday, but Target.com is listing Ghostbusters 2 UHD for $8.99. I don't see a listing for the first movie at all. It looks like all the stores in my area are listing 1 copy in stock with a small number listing 2.

There are so many strikes against this one... first, Target carrying this in stores is hard to believe. Second, Target stores having it in store right now. Third, the price... although, the "regular" price is correct and it is labelled as a "sale".

I ordered one and am just waiting for the e-mail saying to choose a different delivery/pickup option.

A friend of mine sent me a picture that his local Best Buy already put them on for sale a couple days ago here in the states. Not sure if it was a mistake or not.

Robert Harris has chimed in, and says this...

Quote:
Columbia's new 4k UHD of Ghostbusters isn't what your father saw back in the day when President Reagan was in the White House.

It's a full re-imagining of a highly popular, and entertaining effects film, for which HDR and Atmos play just as large a part as a 4k presentation.
It should also be noted that Mr. Harris says...

Quote:
What you'll see on screen is an absolutely rock-solid, fully integrated image, with the perception that you're viewing on an original 35mm print, with zero loss in the image.
He highly recommends it, and gives it top scores across the board. Read his review in full here...

So no, and its ok for them to HDR a film he didn't touch and change it, but for MFL it's a no-no?

Yeah need to see for self, and check against 35mm

I'll still believe it when I see it, but this is supposedly ready for pickup. If only they had the first one.

Those comments by Robert Harris aren't the most assuring but I've sold my Digibook and pre-ordered these for a pretty decent price so I'm in no matter what.

I checked the DPCI, they are in stock at target. If they pulled the wrong one check the DPCI and ask them politely to do there job right.

I had high hopes that it was a dual DPCI and they carried it, complete waste of time.... And they no longer do the apology coupons.

It sounds like he has reservations about HDR for certain movies on particular film stock, but in the case of Ghostbusters the remastering came out fine.
