Yup. We watch GB1 last night and I thought the same. A nice sheen of grain. Not as harsh looking. The OG track was nice and strong as well.

Well great, now you've gone and ruined the whole thread. You know we have a very strict 2 week shipping discussion only policy!!

I hope these get standard editions 4k releases. I don’t want to have to buy that bulky box for 100+ for films I already own in a slightly less good release.

100% agreed. What previously felt like small pebbles on my screen is now just a fine mist of particles that blend beautifully together....like an orgy....of grain.

And that OG stereo track is noice!

I also noticed that standard blu-rays have the stereo tracks on them. Was this always going to be the case or is this a nice surprise? I assumed these would just be blu-ray that came in the original 4K releases.

Those new Blu-rays were first released (albeit with different disc art) in the 2019 anniversary steelbook.

Nothing planned. DigitalBits only mentioned a show of demand from consumers as a way to persuade Sony to release more in some form. People have been posting here:

https://twitter.com/BillHuntBits/sta...07650744987651

Whether that really gets back to Sony, I don't know.

Same here. I know so many years ago, but for the first time it felt like the movie theater experiece, but better!

So if anyone is after that commentary track featuring: Ivan Reitman, Harold Ramis & Joe Medjuck....they'll need to purchase the previous 4K film or the '09 Blu.

Note: there is no commentary track for GB2.
Hmm so one should keep the old UHD? Does that UHD have all extras the bluray has? The new UHD I think is bare.

Finally got mine from Amazon. It came in the dreaded bag, but the condition seems pretty good. Nothing major I can notice. All the discs look to be correct. Just wish I had a 4K setup to watch the UHDs on though.

I'm feeling your pain, though I actually preordered it in December. Amazon kindly let me know my package "may be lost".

Never thought I would say this: I love The Oprah Winfrey Show! All kinds of 80s goodness on display; mullets, shoulder pads, etc. I love when bonus features like this are included. I think I enjoyed it more than the actual GB2 movie.

I've sampled all the discs to make sure they work. I'm just a poor, humble home theatre enthusiast; I don't know nits from gnats, and my TV doesn't play nice with Dolby Vision (happy with regular HDR), so all I can say is, I am very satisfied with the picture and sound quality of the main films. Can't imagine anything they could add to get me to purchase any future release. Ok, maybe a working, full-size proton pack, but that would probably just get damaged in shipping.

And some Chris Farley! Though he's "90s" or more specifically...timeless...

I'm not a huge Ghostbusters fan, but I'm starting to get into it.... wasn't there an animated series at one point? What's the odds of that getting a Blu-ray release someday?

There was one in Germany, but in standard definition. It may be OOP now though.

There’s a whole group of Second Citizens in the crowd in that ep: Joel Murray, David Pasquesi (currently in The Book of Boba Fett,) Judith Scott and Holly Wortell.

Basically this cast minus Tim Meadows and Scott Liss:

My set came and has two 4K copies of Ghostbusters 2 and no 4K of the first film, if anybody's got doubles of the first film and would like to trade let me know.

Never ordered the set so hoping for a stripped-down release with the same discs for the first two films. Wish I never bought that SteelBook a couple years back. It's cool that Sony are going back and adding original audio to titles they've released previously and are undoing that SonyGrain which I was never a fan of. I assume that the contrast/brightness levels have been remedied with Dolby Vision too?
