Yeah, I had to find a replacement for my 2016 set since it walked off a few years ago (save for the 4K disc), and when it arrived last week, I opened it, thought, "hey, this looks great, thank you blessed Amazon marketplace seller for the excellent deal!" and then was immediately aghast at the spine. I momentarily imagined what kind of damage I could do with a black sharpie, then got over it.

Oh, well. It'll be an easy reminder that it's that other Ghostbusters movie that they don't want you to know about. Hemsworth is funny as s*** in that movie.

Oh, I know. Just demonstrating that, yeah, 3-disc flippers are a must for this set, whatever it is you're trying to cram in there to "complete" it.

The 3 disc case yes for the first movies. So 5 or 6 viva elite disc case might fit inside fat Answer the Call slipcases. This will allow for extra documenteries when or if they come out. Also I think the 4th movie could be converted to 3 disc cases.

There is such a thing as a 4 disc slim that might fit in slipcover but those are rare. That would be great to keep docs with respective movies!.

No issues for that code. Be sure you’re reading the code code correctly. Like letter O when its actually zero, 6 instead of G, 8 instead of B, vice versa. Also, while logged of MA, try entering the code to it says invalid or redeemed.

Extended cut of GB16 is definitely the inferior version, its a bummer they didn't put the theatrical on UHD.

Wohoo mine arrived today from Target. All the disks are correct, lights work and case is in great shape. This is one sweet set I’m glad I was able to snag one.

Ok, so I haven't been on this thread for a long time and I'm too lazy to check. Was that set with the DV versions limited and there's no chance for individual releases?

You will need to wait a longer time before coming back. No one knows for sure yet.

The book is a scan taken from a first copy. It was mentioned on GBFans site thread for this set. Taken from their files that was used for the previous PDF.

I have warmed up to it, but the 3D is king minus the passed over Atmos. Hate that and no way to remux!

The 3D for GB16 is fantastic. I found that film to be pretty fun actually.

All batteries will leak eventually. So yeah, at some point the batteries will need to be dealt with. Whether the leakage will ruin the package, that's up for debate I guess, but it can't be good for the discs to have battery acid leaking inside the box, and I imagine it will at some point damage things inside. The Close Encounters set has 3 button cell batteries. This is why I won't buy any more of these ridiculous sets. It's just a headache. According to the guide I saw on the Close Encounters box, I'll have to destroy it at some point soon trying to get to the batteries. That's a shame, and there's no other way to get them out or replace them if I want it to continue working. Sony puts zero thought or care into this problem. They just want to make fancy-looking boxes to sell.

It really depends on the type and enclosure. Do we know what type of batteries are used within this set? I doubt they're very large or heavy batteries with much acid within them... not much power is needed to light a few green LED lights. If they're lithium coin cells or something, they should be good for many years at the very least.

I popped some small button coin cell batteries out of something not long ago that hadn't even been used in roughly 15 years, and while obviously long dead they hadn't leaked any.

Oh dear. An led battery is nothing. If the battery leaks and crawls up inside a bluray case and even if it gets to the disc itself I highly doubt it will render it unplayable. The BASE will be neautralized or dried out by the time that happens and at worst will corrode the current contacts. After a dab of vinegar you are as good as new most cases.

We are talking a watch battery at best. 10 years use more than likely depending on storage conditions.

The "headache" is literally taking some care and regluing. Sure I would like to get to it easier but geez.

By the time the batteries in this set start leaking, there will probably be another release of these movies that makes this set “obsolete” or unnecessary anyway lol so that’s not a big deal. Plus the movies are each in their own cases so the box isn’t even essential now anyway lol.

Not perfect, but also not that bad. US edition is much better than EU (price + slips + light) and i think it’s worth the price. Nice packing with 4K sets and the book completes the collection and I think it is the first such good edition for this franchise and probably the last concerning how streaming is dominating the business.
