Yeah, if you like your dialogue steered into the surrounds or heights.

There's a scene in Mission to Mars (I believe) where the camera spins around and the voices pan across the main channels - DS upmixer keeps the voices where they're supposed to be where Neural:X puts them all over the place, including heights. Annoying.

I do like Full Mono for mono titles though.

If this doesn't get resolved I have to decide - do I sell the box which is worth more in resale yet has better encode, or the originals which won't sell for much? How much better is the encode and is it worth the price in the end.

I'll keep it for the better encodes and the extras. Let's hope Sony comes through.

If I understand correctly the included blu-rays have the correct 2.0 tracks, then those with the capacity should simply remux the correct 2.0 tracks with the superior new 4K video encode.

A course of action that should not be necessary but to me it seems rather foolhardy to part with these discs over this issue, the Atmos track sounds quite faithful and great. ymmv.

I don't suppose anyone has some HQ scans of the fronts and backs of the individual movies, including the slipcovers, and the special features disc, do they ? I can't find any anywhere.

I did that. I rarely watch my 4K discs on... disc. I just make remuxes of them. And yes, you can do this.

So here's crossing my fingers.
Above Sony response was from March 10. I sent them a friendly reminder, if there's any update on the issue, two weeks later (March 24).

Another week has passed now and still nothing but silence. I think Sony is kicking the can down the road re. this issue and I won't be hearing from them ever again. I'll stand corrected and will refrain from less polite statements for now.

Indies like Arrow, Vinegar and (yes) Kino are putting the majors to shame...

They've had their share of mistakes, too.

I currently have only (pending) issues with the majors. Namely Warner and Paramount while the above always kept their word. Sony (so far) did not.

But here's the thing, Kino, for one thing, fixed an audio error lately, even "upgraded" to providing replacements for international customers and if they don't fix an issue, they at least tell you so. Sony appears to simply ignore after telling me to look into it and update me. And not doing as they told me, is what I take issue with the most.

In case of Ghostbusters, it's particulary annoying since one of the selling points re. buying the movies on 4K again is borked.

At the end of the day, I can remux with the BD audio anyway, but others can't and I prefer having bugless discs as well.

I did the same, but I got a friendly response that the replacements are still on production, apologizing for the delay. Still no ETA, though.

I'm a very sceptical person today, so maybe tell me again tomorrow. I'll still give them some time, but as of today I'm disappointed, because I didn't hear anything back again. Which is particularly odd, since it only took them a day max before and if above is true.

An arm on behalf of Kino will also insult and berate those who bring up the problem, all the while exclaiming nothing is actually wrong.

So no, one is not like the others. Sony will keep their mouths shut while Kino will call u a rude name and say the discs are fine.
Both sound like different sides of the barrel of mediocrity, methinks!

It is as legit as Oscar's name being changed to Otto to avoid angering Oscar Meyer Wieners for trademark infringement.
