It worked for me.
They sent me a sealed set after amazon destroyed my first one. It took a while, pre-ordered but got the replacement from Sony directly as amazon refused to help. Got it last week

No, sorry... Let me clarify:
I pre-ordered two copies. Both from Amazon.
Amazon sent them a week later from release date. Then the second a week and a half after that separately.
The first came in a bag, damaged.
The second came in a bag as well. Undamaged.
I contacted Amazon about it and they refused to help.
So I contacted Sony.
Since then, up til last week, been back and forth, mostly one sided with Sony.
They finally sent me a brand new set.

I am actually surprised they were able to send a brand new set. I was under the impression that they were completely sold out. I figured after this long since it’s release, that if they had any, then they would have made them available to buy for the remaining few. I wonder if they made a second print of the set and will make them available again.

For most titles the difference in HDR10 and DV is marginal. Some offer a bigger upgrade, but most are not like that.

It seems like this is another one where the DV tones down the slightly hot nature of the Sony HDR10 base grade, and the grain is better resolved and not as chunky with the higher bitrate. On GB II the difference is marginal at best, plus they censored Winnie the Pooh on the DV redo.

I will just pick up the first Ghostbusters if it gets an individual DV release.

The Winnie the Pooh thing was made up in that twitter post as a joke and not actually taken out.

I hope in 2024 we get a new edition of part 2 with even more deleted footage. I know Sony is holding back that footage for us fans to open our wallets for lost footage. Hell even if they have a workprint like they found with 1 for the sequel to include.

What I think of this boxset months after the fact.. I love it for the content. It's really good. All the special features. The DV upgrades, TO ME, are fantastic..

What annoys me, however is the price and the box itself. I have two copies, the german that I'm going to sell, and the Spain one (where I live). The german has barely been touched, so it's still fine. The Spain one however? Not as well. It moves easily on the plastic case and doesn't keep still, and neither does the slipcover carton thing, which literally doesn't even ''stick'' to it anymore. :/ It's so annoying. So the copy I'll keep is the worse off, but, what matters is the cases inside and they're fine, so.

So, in short, months after. I'm still happy with the content - not so much the packaging. Or at least the Spain one, but all should be the same, really.. Or maybe it just gets worse if you handle the box a lot.

Having sold my original disc in anticipation for the new set which came out recently, and having missed out on this during the preorder stage I’ve decided to get the iTunes DV streaming version to tide me over until a future rerelease.

Having watched it last night I was surprised by the lack of grain I’m sure was there on the original release? Can anyone confirm whether the new DV version does indeed have less grain or if this is an issue with the streaming version?

Or it could be all in my imagination.

I want an 8K stream or disc...have had this for years. next year it's 10 years old...no one cares IKR.

The disc has grain. It's either your imaginatiton, or streaming/compression doesn't do well with thick grain
