It's possible, haven't kept tabs on it, but I was under the impression that this set was long out of print pretty much everywhere like Sony Limited Editions usually do.

Ah yeah, I think it was out everywhere else,
the slight price drop seems to have seen it sell out now on amazon,

Anyone figure out if the French 4x set has DV for the first two movies? Also it seems the set is four 4K discs and no Blu-rays; I'm guessing the four movies are watchable in English with no subtitles just like I would experience with a United States release?

I saw it was on sale at the moment and the listing does show DV for all four films but thats not confirmed

Both discs carry the markings on the front as EU-10488-UHDS & VFB08434 so i would assume that they are the same disc (I don't have the original disc to hand to compare)

I can also confirm that the French 4-Film set does indeed contain the 2022 discs for GB 1&2 with DV. For 27€ it was a no-brainer

Yes. As I said discs are identical to the ones in the expensive box set which sold out pretty fast in 2022. When you slide the disc into the player the disc title says "Deluxe Edition" for the first two movies. The other two naturally have English audio and subtitles too

EDIT: I don't mind a set where the titles are packaged seperately because I can sell off the ones I don't want.
As long as they have the unbuggered 2.0 tracks.

The 4-Film Set is one standard 4K case containing 4 Discs, packaged in a Slipbox. No separate packaging. I got it for a cheap price so I don't mind having the other two movies too. Worst case I can sell the other two movies separately as loose discs and repackage the first two movies e.g. in an old steelbook.

I'm not sure about the borked/unbuggered audio but if the audio was borked on the discs inside the Deluxe Boxes, then these should also have the same audio. I don't think they authored new discs with fixed audio and same year as copyright date. I'll try to post pictures and Matrices of the discs when I have time

Edit: forgot to mention there is no 2-Film collection available with these DV discs. This 4-film set is the best and most affordable way to own the first two GB movies for now.

Exactly what I'm going to do.

Still don't love the steel's stacked disc hubs, but I have no interest in the sequels beyond Ghostbusters II. At least the 2.0 audio is correct on the Blu-rays in that set.

You can clearly see an image of the old disc in the reviews on Amazon product page of the 3-film set. That means currently worldwide the only release with DV discs is this 4-film set from France. It even is cheaper than the 3-film set with old discs currently.

It's been a hassle for sure and i've been waiting. I understand them selling through their old stock, but it would be really dumb if they've been actively reprinting the old discs.

I might import the French set, but i only want the first two and might need to find some other good French releases to combine shipping on.
