Does this mean I can view everything on the bluray discs and won't need a 4K player for this steelbook?

I'm only seeing the Japanese release.

For all the European friends, don't forget that the German steelbook is available on Amazon.de at 57,99 Euros. There's even the French one on Amazon.fr at 34,99 Euros... but I don't know, isn't it too cheap from the rest of the world?

https://www.amazon.de/Ghostbusters-S...gateway&sr=8-1

https://www.amazon.fr/SOS-Fantomes-1...A1X6FK5RDHNB96

The Italian one is already sold out, glad I pre-order it the day before it became unavailable.

Just spoke to Zavvi, they told me to keep an eye on the site and social media for an announcement.

As long as it's below £35 then I'm in, otherwise the French order stays. Cracking price.

Yep, that's an amazing starting price... but I still wonder where's the rip-off, anyway! It's something like half priced from the rest of the globe.

Hope I'm totally wrong!

True, although I like steelbooks and want to cut down on shelf space, so having them all together in one steelbook is appealing to me.

Hopefully they announce a UK version soon, so I don't have to import it, saving money and time but with so many great sets not getting released over here in the past (Halloween, Critters, Friday 13th ect) I thought I better pre-order the US version just in case.

Would the French version not have "SOS Fantômes" plastered on the spine and discs?

We don't know it yet, Amazon.fr has no image available, at this time. Anyway, looking back at the other French editions, you can almost bet on it (at least for the spine).

Same 4K discs with the new extras being on bonus disc BDs, available also in a new BD edition? Maybe I will stick with these... I like the art.

I want the steelbook, but it seems pretty pricey for what it is. Basically asking full price (or even a bit more) for 2 movies that have been out on the format for a long time now.

I guess I'll wait to see if it gets discounted. Should be a big enough release to stick around on shelves for a while.

Sony Music will release a 35th Anniversary Edition of Elmer Bernstein's music for Ghostbusters next month. The original 1984 album only included about 7 minutes of Bernstein's music. In 2006 Varèse Sarabande released a limited edition album (3000 copies) with more than an hour of music, but it sold out quickly. The 35th anniversary album is not limited and has almost all the music from the Varèse Sarabande release (about 6 minutes seem to be missing). The tracks on the new album are not in film order and several tracks have been renamed and includes notes from the son of the composer, Peter Bernstein. It's up for pre-order on Amazon.ca and Amazon.fr.

I actually managed to find a download of the score a few years ago (it was surprisingly difficult to find lol).

Normally I don’t believe in just downloading something like that, but when it’s literally not available anywhere, I kind of have to resort to that.

Maybe I’ll purchase this new release.

Surprised they aren’t trying to capitalize on vinyl...throw that baby on some colorful wax and give it some pretty artwork in a gatefold and boom...sounds like a sexy smash.

I’d hit it...I mean get it...I’d get it.

Hell...I’ll be getting this.
