Hopefully not some awful "pop art," like those old Blu-ray Steelbooks. Those were some of the worst examples of "pop art" on a disc release I've ever seen. I couldn't tell if they were supposed to be the original movie, the remake, or Real Ghostbusters cartoons.

Hopefully in better packaging. I liked the image on the steelbook, but five discs on two hubs was too much. I usually don't throw a fit over scratched discs, but all of mine were scratched in that set and part 2 actually did skip.

I’d be down with original theatrical posters as covers…or slips…but whatever the cover is it’ll still get bought.
I wasn’t a fan of the combined 1 and 2 logo on the steelbook, since it also added a hand for “1”, but I liked that it was just the logo with a black background. |

No, but FEL Dolby Vision decodes to 12 bit pixel depth rather than 10 for more gradation data per pixel. It helps get rid of banding altogether at least. It works in the same P3 to Rec 2020 color spaces as every other HDR format.

A firehouse cover would be good for the new Steelbook, if they do a Steelbook version. And the inside could be the firehouse interior, including Slimer floating around from GB2.
If they didn't have his other hand showing 1, how would it be perceived as anything but a Ghostbusters 2 cover? |

It can, when it's FEL (full enhancement layer), it's 12-bit rather than 10-bit. Sony uses the MEL version which is the shot-by-shot metadata of the HDR levels but stays at 10-bit. Any display can benefit from that because various tone-mapping schemes are all over the place and they always don't get it right. Lower end displays benefit even more because usually their tone mapping is garbage to nonexistent. But as Geoff noted with Labyrinth 35th, it tames the "wild" HDR of the previous disc on the high end Sony Z9D. Ghostbusters will similarly benefit.

But more bits doesn't = more colour, that's a common fallacy. It gives you more gradations within whatever space you're using, but not more colour in terms of exceeding what x gamut can do.
